The Assurance Knowledge Management Leader is responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining knowledge management strategies that enable Assurance professionals to efficiently access, share, and apply institutional knowledge. This role partners closely with Assurance leadership, national office teams, content creators and practitioners to ensure critical guidance, tools, and insights are well‑governed, current, and embedded into day‑to‑day workflows.

This individual operates at both a strategic and executional level, balancing governance and standards with practical adoption and usability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Knowledge Strategy & Governance

  • Define and execute the Assurance knowledge management strategy aligned to firm priorities, regulatory requirements, and digital transformation initiatives
  • Establish governance models for assurance content, including ownership, review cycles, approval standards, and retirement of outdated materials
  • Ensure alignment with firm‑wide knowledge, risk, and compliance policies
  • Ensure alignment with Enterprise Knowledge Management (EKM) governance, architecture, and design policies and procedures

Content Management & Enablement

  • Oversee the lifecycle of assurance knowledge assets (guidance, methodologies, playbooks, FAQs, templates, training materials) and ensure auditors have access to current and relevant information
  • Partner with subject matter experts to capture tacit knowledge and convert it into reusable, high‑quality content
  • Drive consistency, clarity, and usability across assurance content
  • Establish and support document retention policy complying with legal, regulatory, and Firm policies

Platform & Tool Enablement

  • Serve as the business owner or key partner for knowledge platforms and repositories used within Assurance
  • Collaborate with digital and technology teams to integrate knowledge into practitioner workflows (e.g., audit tools, digital workpapers)
  • Identify opportunities to improve searchability, discoverability, and adoption of knowledge assets

Stakeholder & Cross‑Functional Partnership

  • Partner with key stakeholder groups such as Assurance Leadership, NPSG, AS Digital, AS Operations and others to ensure alignment
  • Support change management and communication efforts related to new or updated guidance
  • Facilitate feedback loops to continuously improve knowledge relevance and usability

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and track KPIs related to knowledge usage, quality, and impact
  • Use insights and data to prioritize improvements and demonstrate value to leadership
  • Continuously refine processes as the Assurance knowledge ecosystem evolves

People & Program Leadership

  • Lead and develop junior team members or extended contributor networks as the function scales
  • Manage intake, prioritization, and execution of knowledge initiatives
  • Balance multiple initiatives while maintaining high standards and delivery discipline

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (required)

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Advanced experience using SharePoint Online, Classic and Modern (required).
  • Intermediate experience using Microsoft Forms or equivalent (required).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform (Apps, Automate and BI) (preferred).
  • Intermediate experience using Microsoft Office Suite (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP and DNS (preferred).
  • Knowledge of web analytics tools such as Google Analytics, AvePoint tyGraph or equivalent (preferred).

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIC TO JOB

  • Experience operating in regulated environments with strong governance expectations
  • Proven ability to manage complex initiatives and influence across teams without direct authority
  • Strong understanding of assurance processes, risk, and quality considerations
  • Ability to translate complex guidance into clear, usable content
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution and follow‑through
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building new capabilities from the ground up
  • Data‑informed decision maker with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Experience supporting large, distributed professional populations

  • Ability to travel on occasion to participate in firm or department meetings and training seminars.

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $126,500 - $223,900

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
