The Director of Strategic Planning for Audit & Attest serves as the primary strategic planning, analytics, and performance management leader for the Audit & Attest business unit. This role partners closely with Audit & Attest leadership to drive forward-looking revenue, staffing, and profitability planning, deliver actionable insights, and enable data-driven decision-making across the practice.
Following recent leadership transitions, this role is critical to maintaining continuity, rigor, and strategic perspective in planning and performance management. The Director ensures that leadership has clear visibility into business performance, risks, and opportunities, while translating complex data into insights that inform strategy and execution.
The role reports to the Audit & Attest Business Unit Operations Lead and works extensively with Partners and senior leaders across the firm.
Strategic Planning & Forecasting
Lead monthly growth/pipeline, revenue, and staffing projections, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and scalability.
Interpret and evaluate monthly business performance, including budget variance, KPIs, and trend analysis.
Identify risks and opportunities and deliver clear, actionable recommendations to leadership.
Profitability & Business Insights
Partner with Audit & Attest leadership to develop and maintain costing and profitability models.
Assess customer and engagement profitability and support profit optimization initiatives.
Monitor industry and market trends to inform planning assumptions and long-term strategy.
Executive Reporting & Communication
Prepare executive-level reports and presentations for senior leadership.
Translate complex financial and operational data into clear narratives that support strategic decisions.
Operational Partnership & Process Improvement
Collaborate with Audit & Attest Operations, Resource Management, and Firm Operations teams to align planning, reporting, and analytics.
Design and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and insight.
Support special strategic projects and initiatives as assigned.

Foster a positive, collaborative environment that empowers team members to deliver high-quality insights and support excellent client experiences.

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across levels and geographies.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to own and proactively execute against a project plan.
Demonstrated in-depth understanding of business drivers and metrics, including the ability to conduct deep-dive analyses.
Exceptional ability to create concise, visually compelling executive presentations in PowerPoint.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a deadline-driven, ambiguous, and dynamic environment undergoing change.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in strategic planning, finance, analytics, or operations, preferably within professional services.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and KPI analysis.
Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and influence decisions through data and insight.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Workday and Adaptive Planning.
Experience in audit, accounting, or professional services environments.
Background supporting multi-region or multi–service line organizations.

Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. For Northern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $187,100-$254,900. For Southern California, Washington, New York and Illinois residents, the compensation range for this position: $179,000-$243,900. For Colorado residents, the compensation range for this position: $162,700-$221,700. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location. Eligible employees at certain levels can participate in a discretionary long-term financial incentive plan, subject to plan participation rules.
