In June 2025, AU transformed and expanded its softball business by launching the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL), a premier professional women’s softball league. In 2026, additional teams have been added, converting to a fully city-based model, bringing in team owners, and building out ancillary business, fan and partner engagement opportunities.

Athletes Unlimited Softball League is seeking to hire an energetic Chicago local who is passionate about sports, enjoys connecting with people,and wants to help grow the presence of the Chicago Bandits and the AUSL locally. This part-time role acts as an extension of our marketing team, supporting grassroots outreach, event activations, and on-the-ground promotion in the months leading up to and throughout the season.

Schedule

September 2026 - May 31, 2027 

Responsibilities

    • Increase awareness and drive community engagement leading up to the AUSL season
    • Support grassroots marketing initiatives by working on-site at softball tournaments and community events—setting up AUSL materials (tent, table, banners, etc.), engaging attendees, distributing promotional items, and collecting lead data
    • Distribute promotional and ticketing collateral to local softball clubs, recreation centers, sports bars, and other community hubs
    • Leverage existing connections within the Chicago softball community to introduce potential partners and prospects to the AU ticket sales team
    • Collaborate closely with Athletes Unlimited staff to ensure consistent and effective local outreach

Requirements
  • Must be comfortable working grassroots events on your own
  • Strong communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time 
  • This role is primarily event-based, including select AUSL game days, with additional hours for collateral distribution, event research, and occasional meetings with AU staff
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and non-traditional hours 
  • Availability for the AUSL season dates of September 2026 to May 2027
  • Strong preference for candidates based in the Chicago area
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Benefits

$20/hour + mileage for events greater than 60 miles. There is also potential to continue working during the offseason.

As this is a seasonal position, traditional employee benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plans are not included.

1099 Contractors are responsible for their own taxes and insurance coverage.
