The Opportunity

Torq is seeking an experienced, results-driven, and dynamic Area Vice President (AVP), Eastern Sales to lead our high-performing sales organization across the Eastern United States. Reporting directly to the VP of North American Sales, this is a critical second-line leadership role responsible for driving significant revenue growth, developing world-class sales talent, and executing our market strategy in a key region.


The ideal candidate will have proven success in leading a large, complex, enterprise-focused sales team within a high-growth cybersecurity company. This AVP will be responsible for managing three Regional Sales Directors and their respective Account Executive teams, driving new business acquisition, and expanding market share within the East Coast territory.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Strategy
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Regional Sales Directors, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Develop and execute the East Coast sales strategy, aligning regional objectives with Torq's overall revenue goals and go-to-market plan.
  • Act as a key member of the North American Sales Leadership team, contributing to broader strategy, policy, and organizational development.
  • Drive predictability and rigor across the entire sales process, from pipeline generation through deal closure.
Revenue and Performance
  • Own and exceed the regional revenue target (quota) for the Eastern territory across new logos and expansion business.
  • Monitor sales performance metrics daily, conducting thorough pipeline reviews, forecasting, and deal inspections to ensure accuracy and drive velocity.
  • Ensure consistent use of sales methodologies and CRM best practices across the team.
  • Partner closely with Sales Engineering, Marketing, Alliances, and Customer Success to maximize market penetration and customer value realization.
Team Development and Enablement
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain top-tier sales talent (both Directors and Account Executives).
  • Provide continuous coaching and development to sales leaders and their teams on enterprise selling, negotiation, and cybersecurity value proposition.
  • Ensure the team is fully enabled on Torq’s product capabilities, competitive landscape, and value proposition.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive sales experience, within the enterprise software or cybersecurity space.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding multi-million dollar sales targets in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Extensive experience leading enterprise sales across the Eastern United States, with deep familiarity with the territory, major accounts, and channel partners.
  • Proven ability to coach and develop high-performing Regional Sales Directors and Account Executives.
  • Strong understanding of the cybersecurity market, particularly in the areas of SOAR, automation, security operations, or related platforms.
  • Exceptional executive presence, communication, and presentation skills.
  • High level of business acumen, with the ability to articulate Torq's value to CISOs and business leaders.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or related advanced degree a plus.
  • Ability to travel frequently within the assigned region (Eastern US).
