Position Overview

Storer Transportation is looking for a meticulous Background Check & Onboarding Coordinator to manage the critical compliance phase of our hiring process. You will oversee all pre-employment screening, credential verification, and initial onboarding documentation for new hires. This role is essential for maintaining our high safety standards and ensuring every incoming team member is fully vetted and ready for day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate, track, and review comprehensive background checks, motor vehicle records (MVR), and drug screening results.
  • Verify commercial driving credentials, medical certificates, and past employment history in accordance with DOT rules.
  • Manage the distribution, collection, and compliance verification of all digital onboarding paperwork.
  • Act as the main point of contact for incoming candidates to troubleshoot portal issues and answer compliance questions.
  • Maintain real-time trackers to update hiring managers and recruiters on a candidate's clearance status.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 2–3 years of experience in HR onboarding, compliance coordination, or background screening management.
  • Familiarity with DOT screening requirements and FCRA regulations is highly advantageous.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and zero-tolerance for data entry errors.
  • Proficient with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and digital signature platforms like DocuSign or Adobe Sign.
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive, confidential personal data with absolute discretion.
