Currie Motors is a family owned and operated group of car dealerships which has been in business for over 35 years in Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana.  We pride ourselves in creating a working environment that is fun, fast paced and rewarding. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BDC REPRESENTATIVE 

BDC representatives work hand in hand with the Sales and Service teams at a Car Dealership.  With their main goal of getting business into the doors.  A BDC rep is a natural on the phone, they are professional and knowledgeable about the cars we sell and the services we provide.  They do not sell the actual vehicle; they are selling an appointment to come test drive a vehicle.  There is no cold calling in the dealership, the reps are calling customers that have submitted a lead into the dealership.  Or following-up with customers who have been into the dealership recently.  Knowledge about cars is not important when deciding on this career.  You will be offered training on the brand of vehicles we sell, plus training on all tools we use in the department.  Phone training will also be done on day 1, so that you will comfortable and confident on the phone.  BDC reps are paid an hourly rate plus commission and bonuses.  Successful BDC reps can make this job into a lucrative career.  

QUALIFICATIONS FOR BDC REPRESENTATIVE 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Sufficient reading skills to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Strong writing skills to write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, advertising copy
  • Presentation skills to share information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Mathematical skills to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to interpret and follow instructions shared in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Clean driving record & valid driver’s license

CAREER ADVANCEMENT 

A successful BDC rep will receive a promotion to BDC Lead after 1-2 years, with the next step being an Assistant BDC Manager after another 1-2 years.  Eventually becoming the BDC Manager after 1-2 years.  At this point you would be overseeing a team of 4-8 BDC reps, setting performance goals and being compensated on the performance of your department.  This is a great opportunity to start a rewarding and lucrative career.
