Time Range: Between 7 AM and 7 PM CST
Working Hours: 9 hours per day (8 working hours + 1-hour break)
Days Off: TBD (2 days per week)

About the Role

TeamFicient is looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Bilingual Bookkeeper to manage and maintain accurate financial records and support day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with financial data, reconciling accounts, processing transactions, and preparing financial reports.

The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively in English and Spanish, as the role may involve working with bilingual teams, clients, vendors, and stakeholders. Strong attention to detail, organization, confidentiality, and accuracy are essential.

Core Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Accounting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounting transactions.

  • Record and categorize income, expenses, invoices, payments, and other financial transactions.

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bookkeeping activities.

  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial accounts.

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

  • Prepare and maintain invoices, bills, payment records, and supporting documentation.

  • Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with payment follow-ups.

  • Assist with payroll-related accounting activities as needed.

Financial Reporting
  • Prepare regular financial reports, statements, and summaries.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Identify and investigate discrepancies or inconsistencies in financial records.

  • Maintain organized financial documentation and supporting records.

  • Provide financial information and reports to management and relevant stakeholders.

Compliance & Administration
  • Ensure bookkeeping activities are performed accurately and in accordance with applicable accounting practices.

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and business information.

  • Assist with audit and tax preparation by organizing required financial records and documentation.

  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial transactions.

  • Support accounting and administrative teams with additional financial tasks as required.

Communication & Collaboration
  • Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and internal teams in both English and Spanish.

  • Respond to financial and bookkeeping inquiries in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with management and accounting teams to resolve discrepancies and improve financial processes.

  • Clearly explain financial information and transaction details to non-financial stakeholders when needed.

Candidate Qualifications
Must-Haves
  • 2+ years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience.

  • Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping principles.

  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping.

  • Experience using accounting or bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial information.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial data.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar spreadsheet tools.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.

Good to Haves
  • QuickBooks Online certification or equivalent accounting software certification.

  • Experience supporting U.S.-based businesses or clients.

  • Knowledge of U.S. accounting practices and financial processes.

  • Experience with payroll processing and reporting.

  • Familiarity with financial reporting and month-end closing procedures.

  • Experience working with remote or international teams.

  • Previous experience in a bilingual customer-facing or accounting environment.
