The part-time Birthday Party Leader is responsible for set-up, leadership and clean-up of nature center birthday party activities for children ages 3 through 10 as described in the Emily Oaks birthday party brochure. Birthday parties typically take place on weekends. The Birthday Party Leader also provides customer service to the party family.
JOB DUTIES:
- Set up all necessary birthday party activity props and supplies prior to each scheduled party, including necessary preparations for birthday shelter rentals.
- Lead indoor and outdoor, nature-based, birthday party activities as described in the provided activity write-ups and according to the Emily Oaks leadership guidelines.
- Interact with activity participants and parents in a friendly and helpful manner and provide excellent customer service.
- Assure proper clean-up and return of all props, supplies and equipment utilized for birthday party activities; keep materials in good repair and well-organized.
- Offer input regarding revisions to existing activities and assist with the development of birthday party activity props and new birthday party activities.
- Adhere to the safety guidelines established by the Skokie Park District.
- Adhere to the environmental policy adopted by the Skokie Park District.
- Serve as an example of an individual who has a positive relationship with the natural world.
- Other duties as assigned. ** This job falls in paygrade PT2. Experience working with children or leading group activities, involvement in theater or drama, and/or strong personal commitment to the natural world are preferred. Applicants must be 18 or older.
