Role

As a Divisional Lead, your role will involve leading a team of accounting consultants and overseeing operations specific to helping our venture-backed startup clients succeed. Additionally, you will contribute to the business development efforts and leverage technology to optimize internal processes.

Your Typical, Atypical, Day

  • Lead and manage a team of accounting consultants, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to maximize their potential. Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment within the division.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve divisional goals and objectives, including hitting revenue and margin targets. Collaborate with leadership to align the division's activities with the company's strategy.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients assigned directly to you, ensuring exceptional service delivery and building long-term relationships. Understand the client's needs and provide strategic advice and solutions.

  • Act as a point of escalation for clients assigned to your direct reports, ensuring exceptional service delivery and building long-term relationships. Guide your team on how to best meet their clients’ needs.

  • Identify new business opportunities and lead business development efforts for the division. Develop and maintain relationships with potential clients, nurture leads, and participate in client onboarding.

  • Oversee and manage complex projects, ensuring timely completion, quality deliverables, and adherence to client expectations.

  • Stay abreast of industry best practices to ensure compliance and minimize risks. Implement adequate internal controls and processes within the division.

About You

  • You are naturally curious and a problem-solver. You’re someone who likes to learn and is eager to take on new challenges, especially regarding cutting-edge technology and emerging industries.

  • You take an acutely accurate approach to your work and look forward to the parts of your job that require analytical thinking.

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or something similar, and over 5 years of progressive experience.

  • CPA or CMA is a bonus.

  • 3-5 years of proven experience with people management. Preferably in the startup sector.

  • Strong knowledge of revenue recognition (Subscription - time-based, use-based) 606, commissions related to 606, etc.

  • Strong track record of leadership and team management.

  • Exceptional client relationship management skills, with the ability to understand client needs.

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, team members, and leadership.

  • Strong working knowledge of software is key in this role. Daily, you’ll be using the entire G-Suite, QuickBooks Online, Ramp, Expensify, + Concur. You’ll also be using Zoom and other video conferencing tools to facilitate client meetings.

The base pay range target for the role described in this job description is $120,000 - $135,000. Final offer amounts depend on multiple factors such as candidate experience and expertise, geographic location, total compensation, and market data. In addition, full-time regular positions are eligible for, 401(k), health benefits, and other benefits; some of these benefits may be available for part-time.
