We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with solid healthcare data experience to support rapid decision-making through the analysis of complex datasets including claims, CMS, EMR, and operational data sources. This role focuses on producing directional, decision-ready insights quickly, rather than perfect academic analysis. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with imperfect data, clearly documenting assumptions, and delivering insights that enable leadership to make timely operational and strategic decisions. The analyst will work across multiple healthcare data environments and translate data into clear, actionable intelligence for business leaders, clinicians, and operational teams.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

- Analyze healthcare datasets including claims, CMS files, EMR data, and operational datasets
- Produce rapid, directional analysis to support leadership decisions and operational initiatives
- Identify patterns, trends, and opportunities across utilization, cost, quality, and patient populations
- Translate complex data into clear narratives and decision frameworks
- Build and maintain SQL queries and data extracts across multiple healthcare data sources
- Develop dashboards and visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, and Excel
- Create repeatable reporting frameworks while maintaining agility for ad hoc analysis
- Clearly document assumptions, methodology, and limitations of analyses
- Validate findings across multiple datasets when possible
- Partner with clinical, operational, and finance teams to translate business questions into data analysis
- Communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Support strategic initiatives by providing timely analytic support

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare analytics
- Experience working with healthcare datasets including medical and pharmacy claims, CMS datasets, EMR/EHR data, and operational or population health data
- Experience with Tableau and/or Power BI
- Advanced SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proven ability to produce directional analysis quickly in ambiguous environments
- Proven solid documentation skills for assumptions, methodologies, and data limitations
- Proven solid communication skills and ability to translate data insights for business stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting value-based care, risk adjustment, population health, or utilization management programs
- Experience integrating data across claims, clinical, and operational systems
- Experience working with large healthcare datasets and imperfect data environments
- Familiarity with Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, or dual-eligible populations
