We’re recruiting a Business Development Account Manager (BDAM) within our Wealth Distribution business — a diverse division encompassing our savings and investment solutions designed to help clients achieve their financial goals. As a BDAM, you will play a pivotal role in deepening relationships with financial advisers, driving inflows across our propositions, and positioning Scottish Widows as a trusted partner in the adviser market. You will be responsible for managing a panel of intermediary firms, identifying commercial opportunities, and supporting advisers to achieve great outcomes for their clients. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team, play a meaningful part in our transformation, and help shape the future of platform and pension distribution for one of the UK’s most recognised financial brands.

What you’ll be doing

The individual will be responsible for driving new business across The Scottish Widows Platform proposition while supporting advisers in delivering positive client outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will include managing adviser relationships, identifying and converting commercial opportunities, and collaborating with internal teams to enhance the adviser experience. This role also requires someone who has strong knowledge of pensions, investments, regulation, and market developments to provide consultative support to advisers.

Why join us?

We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and strengthen relationships with financial advisers and intermediary firms across your region.

  • Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities across our Wealth and Platform propositions.

  • Use data, market insight, and strong consultative skills to support advisers with client needs, proposition positioning, and business growth.

  • Represent Scottish Widows at meetings, seminars, conferences, and adviser events.

  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across Distribution, Proposition, Operations, and Marketing to improve adviser experience and drive commercial outcomes.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of market developments, competitor propositions, and regulatory changes (including Consumer Duty) to support adviser conversations.

  • Actively seek opportunities to improve processes, share best practice, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments, and the wider wealth market.

About you

We’re looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in a business development, intermediary sales, or adviser‑facing role within wealth, pensions, or investments.

  • Strong knowledge of UK pension and investment markets, including platforms, savings vehicles, regulation, and adviser business models.

  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to influence and support stakeholders at all levels.

  • Commercial awareness and confidence interpreting data to identify opportunities and make informed recommendations.

  • High levels of motivation, resilience, curiosity, and a proactive approach to finding better ways of doing things.

  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.

Professional qualifications (e.g., RQF Level 4 / DipPFS) are desirable but not essential — a commitment to personal development is key.

This is a place for you:
