Circle is a financial technology company at the epicenter of the emerging internet of money, where value can finally travel like other digital data - globally, nearly instantly and less expensively than legacy settlement systems. This ground-breaking new internet layer opens up previously unimaginable possibilities for payments, commerce and markets that can help raise global economic prosperity and enhance inclusion. Our infrastructure - including USDC, a blockchain-based dollar - helps businesses, institutions and developers harness these breakthroughs and capitalize on this major turning point in the evolution of money and technology.

What you'll be responsible for:
Circle is looking for a Business Development Manager to lead our partnerships with DeFi-native market makers and trading firms. You'll own the full lifecycle of strategic liquidity partnerships-from deal sourcing and structuring to execution and ongoing relationship management-focused on scaling adoption of USDC and Circle's infrastructure across DeFi.
What you'll work on:
  • Lead partnerships with top DeFi trading firms, driving liquidity and adoption of Circle products.
  • Work hand in hand with Circle's Ecosystem Partnership team to identify the right liquidity problem solves for specific venues that Circle intends to work with.
  • Structure and execute market making and liquidity deals across spot and perpetual venues (AMMs, DEXs, aggregators, etc.).
  • Manage high-value relationships with DeFi-native and CEX-connected market makers.
  • Monitor DeFi market trends, identify emerging venues and protocols worth engaging.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, legal, and operations to close and activate deals.
  • Operate autonomously with strong ownership over partner strategy and execution.

What you'll bring to Circle:
Core Requirements:
  • 3-5 years in BD/partnerships in crypto-preferably at a DEX or DeFi protocol, or a CEX with strong DeFi counterparty relationships.
  • Strong understanding of DeFi liquidity dynamics, stablecoins, and both spot and perps markets.
  • A strong network of trading firms active in DeFi.
  • Proven ability to lead deals end-to-end with minimal oversight in a global corporation.
  • Strong communication, written skills, and ability to independently model deal economics and formulate SLAs specific to a deal.
  • Experience/familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS and GSuite.
  • Familiarity with generative AI models (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) and crafting effective prompts

Preferred Requirements:
  • Exposure to FX or stablecoin-based FX markets.
  • Experience working directly with DAO treasuries or DeFi governance.
  • Additional language skills are a plus
