The Business Development Manager will create and enhance broker relationships, drive new business submissions, and collaborate with product managers to increase premium across hospitality and cyber insurance products.

The Business Development Manager will develop new retail broker relationships and grow existing relationships to achieve the goal of increasing the flow of qualified new business submissions for restaurants, hotels and cyber insurance products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with Restaurant/Hotel Primary/Cyber Program Manager and Product Managers to develop and execute a detailed business plan to increase new business submissions and premium across all products.
- Engage with current and prospective commercial insurance brokers primarily via phone, email and virtual meetings. Meet in-person with brokers when appropriate based on current production and growth potential.
- Educate brokers on our underwriting appetite.
- Pre-qualify/triage new business submissions.
- Contribute product enhancement ideas to differentiate our products in the marketplace.
- Provide and manage market intel and competitor information.
- Coordinate business development activities with internal marketing team. Contribute ideas for marketing initiatives.
- Communicate broker feedback to our Program Management and Underwriting teams.
- Collaborate with other internal Sales teams and the Underwriting teams where appropriate for accounts which represent cross-sell opportunities outside of your assigned product portfolio.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 3 years of insurance career experience with demonstrated success selling commercial P&C insurance products at a wholesale, MGA, or carrier level.
- Prior experience with insurance products targeting the hospitality industry (i.e., hotels, resorts, and restaurants) required.
- Working knowledge of retail agency and brokerage operations.
- Property/casualty broker’s license in state of domicile.
- Proficiency in using industry standard metrics for tracking insurance sales and distribution results.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable coverage, policy language, and risk management concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with particular emphasis on Excel.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM.
LOCATION
- Remote position based in the United States.
COMPENSATION & PERKS
- $125,000 - $150,000 base salary plus lucrative commission. Base salary commensurate with knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.
