Howard Financial is a full-service back-office solution for high-growth companies with bookkeeping, payroll, and bespoke reporting needs that require accuracy, timeliness, and institutional-quality reporting without the burden of full-time staff. We are an experienced team of bookkeepers and administrators with multiple decades of combined experience across industries allowing companies to focus on their core business while we handle the rest. 

Founded in 2023, our team of ~100 professionals supports ~75 clients across a diverse range of industries. We recently reached $6M of contracted ARR and are growing rapidly (over 200% LTM growth).

We are now looking for a hungry and entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to drive new business with consumer companies. This is a critical early hire that will help define Howard’s go-to-market motion while working closely with leadership, client teams, and operations.

Unlike traditional accounting firms, we're building a tech-enabled platform that automates the mundane so our team can focus on strategic advisory. Our consumer vertical includes startups, DTC brands, and digital-first businesses—and we need someone who gets their world.

Job Title: Business Development Manager – Consumer 

Location: Remote

Commitment: Full Time

Responsibilities:

  • Drive new business through outbound sales, inbound qualification, and relationship building
  • Close high-value deals with technology and consumer companies
  • Collaborate closely with Company leadership on sales strategy, pricing, and growth experiments
  • Design and maintain accurate pipeline tracking
  • Lead initial onboarding alongside the client delivery team to ensure smooth handoff and client success
  • Represent Howard at industry events, conferences, and strategic meetings
  • Provide feedback to product, marketing, and operations to continually improve our offering

Ideal Candidate:

  • Driven, competitive, and highly motivated by upside compensation
  • Comfortable prospecting via cold outreach, referrals, and inbound—you don't need a warm introduction to start a conversation
  • Entrepreneurial—you want to build the playbook, not just follow one
  • 2-4 years of experience in B2B sales, ideally in technology, consumer, SaaS, or consulting
  • Track record of consistently hitting or exceeding quota (we want receipts)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of technology and consumer sectors or comfort selling to CFOs and business leaders
  • Fluent in CRMs and modern sales tools (we're not looking to train you on CRM basics)Tech-savvy and excited about how automation and AI are changing professional services
  • Values culture, ownership, and teamwork
