Business Development Representative (BDR)

Mogul & Co. — The Media Intelligence Company

Location: Hybrid (Chicago or New York) | Department: Sales | Reports to: President, with close partnership across Commercial Leadership

Who We Are

Winning today isn’t about spending more. It’s about knowing more. Understanding more. Seeing more. And acting sooner than everyone else.

Mogul & Co. isn’t just an agency—we are The Media Intelligence Company: a combination of predictive technology, advanced analytics, and high-performance media execution designed to answer one question with clarity:

How does every $1 in media create the next $10 in revenue and business growth?

We are entering a pivotal phase—expanding rapidly with strong revenue growth and building a commercial organization capable of supporting that scale. The SDR/BDR role is critical to fueling that growth engine.

Our leadership integrates two worlds: Silicon Valley hyper-growth operators with experience building frontier AI and data platforms, and Fortune 500 and agency executives who have managed global P&Ls, overseen billions in media investment, and led major transactions. This blend shapes how we operate: focused, precise, data-driven, and oriented toward long-term value creation.

About the Role

The Business Development Representative is a high-impact, pipeline-generating role at the front end of our commercial organization. You will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and qualifying new business opportunities across agencies, brands, and enterprise advertisers.

This is not a script-reading, dial-for-volume seat. We are looking for someone who can research intelligently, craft compelling outreach, and start conversations with senior decision-makers around media performance, measurement, and predictive intelligence.

You will partner closely with the President and senior commercial leadership to open and qualify opportunities that advance into strategic sales cycles. You will also help refine messaging, sharpen outreach, and build the commercial muscle that supports long-term career growth.

You will be trained on Mogul & Co.’s positioning, outreach frameworks, and commercial playbooks so you can represent the company with confidence and precision.

Key Responsibilities

Pipeline Generation & Outreach

  1. Research and identify target accounts across agency, brand, and enterprise verticals

  1. Execute multi-channel outbound campaigns across email, phone, LinkedIn, and events to generate qualified meetings

  1. Craft personalized, insight-driven outreach that connects Mogul & Co.’s predictive intelligence to prospect pain points

  1. Maintain a disciplined cadence and strong daily activity levels without sacrificing quality

Qualification & Handoff

  1. Conduct discovery conversations to understand prospects’ media challenges, buying process, and decision-making structure

  1. Qualify opportunities against defined criteria and document them thoroughly in Salesforce

  1. Execute warm handoffs to the President and senior commercial leadership with clear context, relevant insights, and recommended next steps

Market Intelligence

  1. Stay current on media, AdTech, and analytics industry trends to sharpen positioning

  1. Relay competitive insights and prospect feedback to Sales and Marketing leadership

  1. Identify patterns in outreach response that can inform messaging, targeting, and go-to-market strategy

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  1. Partner with Marketing on campaign alignment, content needs, and event follow-up

  1. Collaborate with Product and Analytics teams to understand new capabilities and translate them into compelling sales narratives

  1. Contribute to the development of sales playbooks, talk tracks, and outreach templates

Who You Are

Required:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field

  1. 1 to 3 years of experience in business development, sales development, or a related outbound sales role

  1. Familiarity with the advertising, media, or AdTech ecosystem, including agency structures, programmatic, and measurement concepts

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write outreach that actually gets opened and answered

  1. Experience using CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce, and sales engagement tools such as Outreach, Salesloft, Apollo, or similar

  1. Self-motivated, competitive, and genuinely curious about how media and technology intersect

  1. Organized, coachable, and resilient, with the ability to absorb feedback and improve quickly

Preferred:

  1. Experience selling or prospecting into analytics, intelligence, measurement, or AI-enabled media solutions

  1. Exposure to high-growth startup environments

  1. Familiarity with account-based marketing strategies and tools

  1. Previous experience at a media agency, ad tech platform, or media company

Compensation

  1. Base Salary: $55,000 to $75,000

  1. On-Target Earnings (OTE): $80,000 to $110,000, including performance-based bonuses and commissions

  1. Equity compensation with long-term upside

  1. Comprehensive benefits from day one, including medical, dental, vision, life, HSA, and disability

  1. Wellbeing programs including primary care support, mental health services, and pet wellness

  1. Unlimited PTO

  1. Paid parental leave

  1. 401(k) retirement plan

Why Now?

The media intelligence category is at an inflection point. As brands face mounting pressure to prove ROI and agencies compete to demonstrate strategic value, the ability to predict outcomes before dollars are spent has become a competitive necessity, not a nice-to-have.

Mogul & Co. is capitalizing on this moment. We are a fast-growing company in the midst of significant expansion, with strong revenue momentum and increasing demand from agencies and enterprise brands.

Joining now means:

  • Ground-floor impact: Help build the commercial pipeline during our highest-growth phase, not after the foundation is set

  • Category creation: You will not be selling a commodity. You will be introducing decision-makers to a new way of thinking about media investment

  • Accelerated career growth: Top-performing BDRs at Mogul & Co. will have a clear path into closing roles, account management, or commercial leadership as we scale

This is the window where your work can have exponential impact, both on the business and on your own trajectory.

What Makes Us Different

Most agencies optimize media. Some analyze it. Very few can predict it.

Mogul & Co. sits at the intersection of innovative technology and real-world media execution. We are not a pure-play software platform, and we are not a traditional agency relying on intuition alone. We are building proprietary predictive intelligence that merges cutting-edge AI and data science with deep media expertise.

Where others report on what happened, we show clients what is most likely to happen next. Where others manage campaigns reactively, we help architect them proactively using intelligence that did not exist before.

The result is not just better performance. It is greater foresight, sharper clarity, and stronger confidence in every dollar invested.

Culture & Working Style

We operate with the energy and urgency of a fast-paced startup, but we are not chaotic. We are intentional.

  • Move fast, but with precision: We value speed and execution, but not at the expense of quality or strategic thinking

  • High collaboration: Our hybrid model is designed for connection. We work cross-functionally, share insights openly, and believe the best outcomes come from diverse perspectives working in sync

  • Ownership mindset: Everyone here is expected to think like a builder, not just an executor. You will have autonomy, accountability, and the ability to shape how we work

  • Data-driven decisions: We do not rely on gut feelings or politics. We test, measure, learn, and adapt based on what the data tells us

  • Hybrid flexibility with purpose: We believe in-person collaboration drives breakthrough thinking and stronger relationships, so we prioritize time together while trusting people to work effectively wherever they are most productive

If you thrive in environments where things move quickly, where your contributions are visible and valued, and where you are surrounded by smart, driven people building something meaningful, you will fit right in.

Equal employment opportunity will be extended in all aspects of the employer-employee relationship, including, but not limited to, recruitment, hiring, training, promotion, transfer, demotion, compensation, benefits, layoff, and termination. In addition, Mogul & Co. will make reasonable accommodations to known physical or mental limitations of an otherwise qualified person with a disability, unless the accommodation would impose an undue hardship on the operation of our business.
