We are currently seeking an Agribusiness Business Development Specialist (BDS) for our Midwest territory in Indiana.  The BDS will provide agency management, progressive growth of revenue and profitability in the assigned territory.  The selected candidate will partner with underwriters to build agency relationships and establish agency goals. The selected candidate will be the central point of contact for our agency partners.  Will also promote sales of various property and casualty products through the independent agency system and be responsible for the acquisition and retention of profitable accounts through sound underwriting principles reflective of company policy. Candidate will be responsible for new account selection, new account pricing, and direct policyholder service. The BDS will work with their agents to set strategic goals through annual planning sessions. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Will be a marketing representative for assigned agencies, and will make decisions in accordance with risk selection and pricing parameters based on authority level.
  • Managing and maintaining all agency relationships and business goals in the assigned territory.
  • Making recommendations for agent appointments and terminations.
  • Assisting with marketing, training, and deploying FCCI products and services.

This is a field-based role, and the candidate must reside within the territory.

The salary range for this position is $83,080-$127,945 annually. This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Qualifications Experience Required * Bachelors degree; NOTE: Relevant, progressively responsible work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education. * Four or more years of commercial marketing and underwriting experience preferably at least one year directly related to commercial agribusiness. * Solid knowledge of underwriting processes, coverages, tools and company products and services. * Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills. * Industry designations, such as CIC, CPCU or other designations are desired but not required Equal Opportunity Employer
