Business Intelligence Analyst

Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology, the Business Intelligence Analyst will work alongside the Programmer Analyst to ramp up the evolution of modern business intelligence tools at TEC. This position will be required to learn the ERP database schema, write complex queries, views, and stored procedures, and have the ability to validate result sets to ensure quality and accuracy. This position will be tasked with building reports and dashboards for multiple business units. We desire a candidate with experience in any programming or scripting language (PHP, PowerShell, C#, etc.), an analytical mindset, and the drive to take the initiative to learn and grow their knowledge base.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business users and subject matter experts to establish a vision for providing BI solutions.
  • Translate business intelligence requirements into technical specifications
  • Utilize MSSQL and other database tools (including but not limited to Oracle EPM) to build and modify meaningful reports and dashboards for business units
  • Perform SQL queries - design, code, test, and aggregate the results to create useful information
  • Build aggregated data marts to provide data models and visualizations for Power BI
  • Write technical documentations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate degree and/or 4+ years of related experience
  • Business analysis skills
  • RDBMS (Relational Database Management system) experience
  • Previous experience with learning database schemas
  • Ability to write intermediate/advanced queries using T-SQL
  • Understanding of data warehousing and ETL processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred

  • Power BI
  • DAX (data analysis expressions)
  • Programming or scripting experience
  • SSIS
  • Previous experience analyzing financial information
  • Experience with Infor SX.e ERP
  • Progress SQL-92

Schedule & Location

Monday – Friday Daytime Hours

Lansing, IL

Full-time, 40 hours/week

In-office

Salary Expectations

Minimum starting salary of $60k annually

Starting salary based on experience
