ABOUT THE TEAM
The Media Consulting and Activation (MCA) team is a passionate 250+ person group with one goal, to deliver digital solutions that move the needle for our client’s business while providing Raving Fan service. Through a combination of SMES in the areas of ad operations, analytics, media planning/buying, programmatic, search, social and strategy development, the services team has their pulse at the forefront of what’s happening across the digital landscape. This team develops bespoke solutions designed to help clients maximize their budgets and achieve their KPIs. Working closely with the client development team (sales), a primary focus of the services team is to win, grow, and retain business among a diverse portfolio of clients. The services team is responsible for stewarding $500M+ in paid digital media annually. The team has an exciting and collaborative working dynamic that amplifies Basis' winning culture.

WAYS YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE
 You’ll be joining the Strategic Business Outcomes team, Basis’s strategy Center of Excellence. You’ll be part of a team of strategists with a diverse set of skills across consulting, media & investment strategy, marketing strategy, consumer insights, and innovation. The team acts as a strategic engine within the Media Consulting and Activation organization, driving business outcomes for our clients through consultative support, thought leadership, and strategic enablement.
We’re looking for someone with a curious and analytical mindset that asks thoughtful questions, doesn’t shy from sharing their perspective, and contributes strategic thinking that elevates the work. In this role you’ll contribute to strategic resources and support the development of strategic recommendations across client work and new business opportunities. This role is client-facing and supports our mid-tier clients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Understand and have a perspective on the fundamentals of strategy and planning, as well as emerging topics and ways of thinking shaping our industry.
  • Synthesize client data, category and audience research, and strategy principles into actionable POVs and strategic recommendations tailored to a client’s business.
  • Contribute to internal strategic enablement by helping build resources, best practices, and programs that elevate strategic thinking across the organization.
  • Assist with new business opportunities by gathering insights, shaping strategic narratives, and supporting rationale-backed recommendations.
  • Maintain a proactive, curious mindset with a willingness to challenge assumptions, push for clarity, and contribute your own perspective to strengthen outcomes.
  • Monitor category, consumer, and media trends and translate those insights into actionable POVs and client-ready recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners within Planning, Analytics, and Investment teams to ensure strategic thinking is reflected in briefs, media plans, testing roadmaps, and client deliverables.
  • Stay informed on emerging industry trends, platform updates, and technological advancements.
  • Acknowledge and embrace diversity of thought and opinion, and approach with Beeps, clients and vendors, regardless of background, culture, and organizational level. Specific examples include, but are not limited to:

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • 6-10 years of experience with strategic media planning, consulting, or similar functions that bridge an understanding of marketing, media, and consumer insight, with client-facing experience.
  • A working knowledge of cross-channel media and experience with channel selection and role definition to translate conceptual ideas into executional possibilities.
  • Proven ability to interpret and synthesize data, research, and performance signals into clear insights and actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Familiarity leveraging data and insights from research tools like MRI, GWI, Mintel, etc.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and structuring work, moving from problem identification to insight development to recommended action.
  • Comfort leading work independently, with the ability to manage competing priorities and support multiple workstreams at once.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, including experience crafting strategic narratives and building client-ready presentations.
  • Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams (e.g., Research, Analytics, Planning, Investment) and influencing strategic direction within a matrixed environment.
  • Willingness to actively contribute to and be part of Basis’s culture.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
