Job Summary

VSolvit is seeking a Capture Analyst II to join our dynamic Business Development team, with a primary focus on Federal armed services procurements. This mid-level position plays a critical role in researching and analyzing Government information technology contracting opportunities, acquisition trends, and competitive landscapes. The analyst will develop actionable reports on opportunities, clients, and competitors and will maintain and update VSolvit’s customer relationship management (CRM) system with relevant opportunity data.

This position requires strong research, analytical, and communication skills to support changing priorities and needs of capture managers, proposal managers, and executives. The candidate must be highly organized, attentive to detail, and comfortable supporting multiple simultaneous assignments, be able to deliver measurable results on a daily basis, and be able to work independently in a remote work environment. Candidates for this position must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance. The ideal candidate will bring prior experience with armed services contracting environments (such as Navy, Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Space Force, Coast Guard), have a keen eye for detail, and be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Additionally, the candidate will demonstrate comfort and proficiency using artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled tools and emerging technologies to enhance market research, opportunity identification, competitive intelligence, data analysis, and capture planning activities. The analyst will proactively evaluate and leverage innovative technologies to improve efficiency, generate actionable insights, and support data-driven business development decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth market research on Federal agencies and programs to identify new contract opportunities
  • Analyze customer needs, acquisition strategies, and buying patterns to support business development targeting
  • Track and forecast Government acquisition and spending trends, providing actionable insights to capture and proposal teams
  • Collect and analyze data on competitors, including strengths, weaknesses, pricing strategies, and differentiators; prepare competitive intelligence reports
  • Conduct partner research to identify qualified teaming partners and assess alignment with VSolvit capabilities
  • Monitor industry publications, agency forecasts, and acquisition portals (e.g., SAM.gov, USASpending.gov)
  • Use GovCon research platforms (e.g., GovWin IQ, Federal Compass, Bloomberg Government) to build and maintain saved searches, alerts, and watchlists
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to accelerate opportunity research, competitive analysis, market intelligence gathering, and capture decision-making
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, automation capabilities, and AI-assisted workflows that improve business development and capture effectiveness
  • Utilize AI-assisted research and data analysis tools to identify trends, assess opportunity fit, and generate actionable capture insights while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
  • Prepare market research reports, SWOT analyses, and opportunity briefings for leadership review
  • Support capture and proposal teams with data gathering, partner coordination, and customer outreach strategies
  • Assist with preparation for industry days, conferences, and DoD-focused trade shows
  • Maintain CRM opportunity pipelines with accurate, timely updates
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Political Science, Economics, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in market research, business development, or competitive analysis in Federal contracting
  • Demonstrated customer service-oriented attitude in support of project managers
  • Demonstrated experience with research and analysis of DoD opportunities
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace
  • Demonstrated experience and comfort using AI-enabled tools, automation platforms, and emerging technologies to support research, analysis, business development, or capture-related activities
  • Ability to effectively incorporate AI-assisted research and data analysis tools into daily workflows while exercising sound judgment and validating outputs
  • Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research, interpreting industry data, and preparing reports
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience supporting market research or competitive analysis in the DoD space
  • Demonstrated knowledge of procurement opportunities with specific armed services branches (e.g., Navy, Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Space Force, Coast Guard)
  • Experience conducting opportunity assessments and mapping to company capabilities
  • Familiarity with capture/proposal processes in the Federal contracting lifecycle
  • Prior experience preparing SWOT analyses, Black Hat reports, or similar competitive intelligence deliverables
  • Experience with CRM systems and pipeline management (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot)
  • Proposal development or capture support experience in Federal contracting
  • Demonstrated professional writing skills using proven research and analysis methods
