The Microsoft Business Development Strategist role will focus on helping CDW's Education customers gain a deeper understanding of Microsoft/Windows solutions, including CDW's Amplified Services that meet their specific technology needs and desired experiences. This role will primarily collaborate with the CDW sales team and customers, including Account Managers, Presales, Solution Architects, and Account Executives. The Business Development professional will assess customer environments and align the appropriate services and solutions with their product offerings, ultimately maximizing sales and profit for CDW.
Key Areas of Responsibility
* Co-lead the relationship between CDW K12 & HiEd Sales and key Microsoft/Windows stakeholders by organizing regular strategic planning meetings with both Microsoft/Windows and CDW Sales leaders.
* Advocate for the adoption of Amplified Services for Microsoft among Education customers including solutions for Amplified Support for Microsoft 365, Copilot and Intune.
* Drive Sales Manager alignment and strategic planning to execute Microsoft/Windows sales in each CDW region alongside Microsoft/Windows BDMs.
* Take direct responsibility for the Microsoft/Windows sales strategy in select strategic growth markets.
* Clearly explain relevant facts and effectively differentiate Microsoft/Windows product and service offerings from competitors.
* Collaborate with Account Managers, Account Executives, and Solution Architects nationwide to identify and facilitate opportunities.
* Build strategic partnerships and OEM relationships to help CDW deliver an optimal customer experience around Microsoft/Windows.
* Work with sales management to identify specific behaviors, knowledge, and skill areas for the development of Account Managers and Field Sellers.
* Engage in Microsoft/Windows roadmap strategic planning with OEM partners.
* Plan and present Microsoft/Windows content at regional events including the CDW Education Device Technology Showcases, following up on leads to drive Microsoft/Windows sales.
* Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales forecasting and visibility by maintaining a current pipeline using forecasting tools.
* Help sales teams (territories and/or market segments) meet or exceed opportunity targets.
* Offer product configuration, pricing, and program assistance, presenting well-prepared and compelling cases to CDW's Education customers for Microsoft/Windows devices and Amplified Services.
* Increase the attachment of CDW's Microsoft/Windows Services in the assigned geography by articulating strategies and solutions that meet customers' unique needs.
* Responsibilities
* Gain a deep understanding of Microsoft/Windows technology stacks and prepare and present them effectively.
* Develop and lead engaging customer conversations and deliver impactful training presentations.
* Consistently build and manage a robust account and opportunity pipeline.
* Drive sales and profitability for specific product lines.
* Follow up on leads and qualify them effectively.
* Generate new business opportunities to expand the pipeline.
* Identify key decision makers and manage the sales process efficiently.
* Focus on promoting Microsoft/Windows Services by positioning CDW's Amplified Services offerings.
* Minimum Qualifications
* 4+ years of experience working in working in device and/or SaaS Microsoft/Windows Sales
* 3 years of experience with strategic account planning and consultative sales or pre-sales
* Other Qualifications
* Proven track record of facilitating large solution sales.
* Experience in a services delivery model utilizing both direct and third-party delivery.
* Strong customer and C-level interaction skills.
* Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills in both executive and informal settings.
* In-depth knowledge and relevant industry experience.
* Ability to communicate technical concepts and business solutions effectively.
* Demonstrated capability to understand and interact with senior-level management.
* Experience working in collaborative environments.
* Highly motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* At least 25% travel
