Banyan Software provides the best permanent home for successful enterprise software companies, their employees, and customers. We are on a mission to acquire, build and grow great enterprise software businesses all over the world that have dominant positions in niche vertical markets. In recent years, Banyan was named the #1 fastest-growing private software company in the US on the Inc. 5000 and amongst the top 10 fastest-growing companies by the Deloitte Technology Fast 500. Founded in 2016 with a permanent capital base setup to preserve the legacy of founders, Banyan focuses on a buy and hold for life strategy for growing software companies that serve specialized vertical markets.

Job Profile:

This is an exciting opportunity to work directly for one of Banyan’s seasoned Operating Partners, who act like Group President’s overseeing a portfolio of software businesses, as their Chief of Staff.

In this role you will gain valuable exposure to software M&A but be primarily focused on value creation activities across a number of portfolio companies, working hand in hand with CEO’s and functional leaders. You will also learn the Banyan Operating System set of best practices, getting hands-on operating experience helping newly acquired companies drive growth.

The Executive Leadership Program is designed as a 2-year program, after which high performers will have the opportunity to lead an operating company as a C-Suite member or CEO.

As an ELP, you will be a part of a cohort of peers at Banyan, growing and learning together. Among other development opportunities, you will receive external executive coaching throughout, receive mentorship from Operating Partners who have decades of experience in software, and be included in Banyan’s CEO Guild and annual in-person global summit.

For those looking to learn the best practices on how to grow software businesses, fast-track their career towards running a business themselves, and join a fast-paced, fun and collaborative team, this job is for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with CEOs and functional leaders across portfolio companies to implement the Banyan Operating System, driving operational improvements and growth.
  • Lead high-impact projects across product, sales, marketing and more, as the right-hand to an Operating Partner.
  • Assist in integration planning and onboarding for newly acquired businesses.
  • Support the Operating Partner with critical initiatives, cross-company collaboration, and key decision-making efforts.
  • Gain hands-on experience to prepare for future leadership roles, including potential CEO or C-suite positions.

Qualifications for success:

  • This program is designed for graduating (or recently graduated) students from top MBA programs. 1st year MBA students should not apply.
  • 2-5 years of prior experience in management consulting, private equity, investment banking, or an operational leadership role. A variety of prior relevant career experiences will be considered.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of an organization.
  • Proven track record of leading projects, managing competing priorities, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for learning and growth, with a long-term goal of stepping into an executive leadership position.

The expected base salary for this position is: USD $160,000 - $200,000, excluding annual bonus and equity (when applicable). Salary is based on a number of factors including market conditions, location and may vary depending on job-related skills and experience.
