Pay Range

$43.30 - $64.95

Major Responsibilities:

  • Directs quality implementation and oversight of the CSV Program throughout the continuum of hospital care in coordination with American College of Surgery NSQIP Pediatric Program.  
  • Ensures children's surgery safety reports are collected appropriately and ensures staff are adequately trained and performance is monitored  
  • Coordinates management across the continuum of children's surgical care, which includes planning and implementation of clinical protocols and practice management guidelines, monitoring care of in-hospital patients, and serving as a resource for clinical practice.  
  • Provide intra-facility and regional professional staff development, participate in case review, implement practice guidelines, and direct community education programs.
  • Monitor clinical processes and outcomes and system issues related to the quality of care provided; develop quality filters, audits, and case reviews; identify trends and sentinel events; and help outline remedial actions while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Manage, as appropriate, the operational, personnel, and financial aspects of the children's surgery program. Serve as a liaison to administration and represent the children's surgery program on various hospital and community committees to enhance and foster optimal care management.  
  • Supervise collection, coding, and developing processes for validation and analysis of data. Design and oversee data collection to facilitate performance improvement activities, trend reports, and research while protecting confidentiality.
  • Stabilize the complex network of many disciplines that work in concert to provide high-quality children's surgical care. Serve as an internal resource for staff in all departments and act as an extended liaison for other system entities.
  • Be involved in research projects, analysis, and distribution of findings. Facilitate protocol design for accurate data collection, feedback and analysis, and understand the requirements of research oversight.  
  • Participate in the development of children's surgical care systems at community, state, provincial, or national levels. 

Minimum Job Requirements 

Education

Masters of Science in Nursing  

Certification / License 

Registered Nurse 

Experience

Minimum 3 years of work experience in nursing field 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities 

  • Proficiency in oral and written communication  
  • Knowledge and understanding of pediatric and surgical services.  
  • Healthcare planning, business, and management skills, including analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as a team leader.  
  • Ability to prioritize work activities to achieve goals in a timely manner 
  • Problem solving, teamwork, consensus building, and negotiation skills.  
  • Ability to extrapolate and apply current principles in the art and science of nursing to the practice of nursing.  
  • High degree of discretion and flexibility  
  • Knowledge of research and methodology   
  • Ability to be flexible accommodating clinician’s schedules when early or late meetings are necessary

The physical requirements include: must be able to sit, stand, speak, read/write and walk throughout the workday. Exposed to normal office environment.
