Job Description

Reporting directly to the Chief of Police, the CLERY and Police Compliance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating institutional compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) and supporting a broad range of police department compliance functions.


Using systems such as Lexipol, LEFTA, and vendor management tools, this position monitors training requirements, policy acknowledgments, CJIS-related background checks, and other regulatory obligations. The Coordinator prepares and publishes the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASFSR), ensures Campus Security Authorities complete required training, supports CJIS administrative compliance, manages departmental policies and procedures, and assists with audits and accreditation through the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA).
This position serves as the administrative lead for the University’s multidisciplinary Clery Compliance Team and helps maintain the internal controls and cross-functional processes necessary to demonstrate administrative capability under federal regulations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Clery Act Coordination and Compliance including preparation, publication and maintenance of Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASFSR), and maintenance of Clery records, monitoring changes to the Cleary Act.
  • Monitor security awareness training, user agreements, fingerprint-based background checks, and access documentation using vendor management tools.
  • Maintain audit-ready records and support CJIS audits.
  • Coordinate with the Local Agency Security Officer (LASO), Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC), and IT personnel.
  • Manage policy updates, acknowledgments, and publication through Lexipol.
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and accreditation through IACLEA; maintain electronic proofs of compliance and standards documentation.
  • Other Duties as Assigned

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

SUPERVISION:
  • No formal supervisory authority

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, higher education, business administration, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience in compliance, law enforcement administration, higher education, or a related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with Clery Act compliance.
  • Experience in a law enforcement or campus public safety environment.
  • Familiarity with CJIS administrative requirements.
  • Experience with Lexipol, LEFTA, or similar compliance systems.
  • Experience supporting accreditation or audit processes.
  • Experience in Higher Education
  • Knowledge of related regulations, including the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), Title IX, the Higher Education Act, and the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act.
