Position Overview

Clark Dietz is seeking a Client Advisor to support our Illinois Region with business development in the Chicagoland area. This position is responsible for client engagement, pursuit coordination, relationship management, and internal alignment to help achieve revenue goals for the region. Reporting to the EVP of Business Development, the Client Advisor will work closely with Region, Area, and Team leaders to identify opportunities and sell engineering services in Northern Illinois. This position may be based in our Chicago or Oakbrook Terrace offices with hybrid work flexibility and designated in-office days.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Leads outreach and market research to identify potential clients, future projects, procurement cycles, funding sources, and regional business opportunities.
  • Supports the Regional Director and EVP of Business Development in executing regional growth strategies in coordination with Area Managers, Team Leaders, and technical staff.
  • Coordinates proposal and qualification efforts, including go/no-go decisions, scheduling, content development, technical input, branding, and final production.
  • Maintains CRM systems, client lists, pursuit pipelines, and marketing intelligence; tracks win rates, client engagement, and other performance metrics for regional reporting.
  • Supports client service plans and prepares presentations, briefing materials, and talking points for client meetings, interviews, and conferences.
  • Represents Clark Dietz professionally in client meetings, industry events, and networking activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of regional growth and client success.

Requirements

  •  Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with 5+ years of experience in professional services, business development, marketing, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting business development, proposals, or client relationship management; experience with municipal and county governments is strongly desired.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to prepare polished client-facing materials and work effectively with executives, technical staff, and external clients.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required; experience with CRM systems such as Deltek Vantagepoint is desirable. 
  • A valid driver's license and frequent regional travel are required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting salary range: $90,000 – $110,000 + annual performance bonus.
