Client Director (Salesforce)
Location: Remote, United States

Summary

As Thunder continues to evolve its selling motion around industry verticals, we are seeking a Client Director to support growth within our CBS, Manufacturing, or TMT (Media) practices. This role is designed for a high-performing Salesforce services seller who has mastered the fundamentals of the ecosystem and is looking to deepen their industry expertise, selling discipline, and account ownership.

The Client Director partners closely with Salesforce, Thunder Capability Leaders, and Delivery teams to support net-new opportunities, grow existing accounts, and deliver a high-quality client experience throughout the full lifecycle. Our ideal candidate brings a successful track record of solution selling within the Salesforce partner ecosystem, credibility with deep Industry POV, and the ability to shape complex six- and seven-figure multi-cloud transformation programs.

What You'll Own
  • Pipeline Generation — Build and execute a vertical-aligned territory plan. Drive top-of-funnel through Salesforce co-sell, targeted outbound, executive networking, partner relationships, and event-based motion.
  • Salesforce Alignment — Operate as a trusted extension of the Salesforce account team. Build durable relationships with AEs, RVPs, AVPs, SEs, and industry leaders inside your assigned vertical.
  • Solution Shaping — Partner with delivery, solution architects, and sales engineering to scope engagements that fit the client's business problem and our delivery model. Bring point-of-view, not just paper.
  • Deal Execution — Run multi-threaded pursuits: discovery, business case, mutual close plan, MSA/SOW negotiation, and handoff. Typical deal sizes range from ~$250K to multi-million-dollar programs.
  • Forecasting & Rigor — Maintain accurate pipeline and forecast in our own Salesforce instance. Operate against a clear quota with weekly cadence.
  • Account Expansion — Land-and-expand existing logos. Identify whitespace by cloud, build executive relationships beyond the original buyer, and grow ACV over time.

What You Bring
  • Required
    • 4+ years of enterprise sales experience, with at least 2 years selling Salesforce professional services at another SI / consultancy / implementation partner.
    • Demonstrated quota attainment carrying a services number (not software). Track record of closing $1M+ services deals at the senior end; $250K–$500K consistently at the mid level.
    • Working command of the Salesforce ecosystem: how Salesforce sells, how partners co-sell, the AE / RVP / AVP hierarchy, and the rhythm of Salesforce's fiscal year.
    • Vertical depth in one or more of: CBS, Manufacturing (discrete or process, industrial, supply chain), TMT (Media)
    • Comfort selling across multiple Salesforce clouds — Sales, Service, Data Cloud, Agentforce, and at least one Industry Cloud relevant to your vertical.
    • Strong commercial instincts: comfortable shaping SOWs, negotiating commercial terms (T&M vs. fixed fee, milestone structures, change orders), and protecting margin.
  • Strongly Preferred
    • Existing Salesforce field relationships in your target vertical — RVPs, AEs, SEs you can mobilize on day one.
    • Experience in a partner-leveraged sales motion (co-sell, source-and-influence, ACV credit dynamics).
    • Familiarity with Data Cloud, Agentforce, and AI-led delivery models.
    • Background working with a sales engineering / solution architecture pre-sales partner.
  • You'll Stand Out If
    • You've previously broken into a vertical from a standing start and built it into a real book.
    • You've sold managed services or "Forward Deployed"-style staffing constructs in addition to project-based SOWs.
    • You bring a written, structured approach to account planning — not just relationship-led selling.
