The University of New Hampshire School of Nursing invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing
The Clinical Assistant Professor of nursing is a full-time faculty position that reports directly to the Director of Nursing, in the College of Health and Human Services.
This position is responsible for the education of undergraduate/graduate students which may include instruction and/or supervision of students in the clinical setting, coordination of clinical experiences, simulation laboratory instruction, classroom instruction, and on-line instruction. 

   

The primary function is to help baccalaureate and graduate students acquire the knowledge, skills, critical thinking ability, and attitudes required in professional nursing practice.  

The School of Nursing offers clinical experiences in the following specialties:

  • Fundamentals of Nursing

  • Acute/Chronic Adult Health

  • Pediatrics

  • Maternal Child Health

  • Mental Health

  • Public Health

Duties/Responsibilities 

 

  • Develop and deliver instructional material in alignment with course objectives and student outcomes.  

  •  Utilize a variety of appropriate teaching strategies to promote student learning.  

  • Evaluate and document student progress and provide relevant and timely feedback to students.  

  • Collaborate with faculty colleagues to develop, support and implement curriculum.

  • Actively participate in governance for the School of Nursing 

  •  Serve on School of Nursing, college or university committees as required 

  • Participate in evaluation of programs and accreditation activities.

  • Serve as an academic advisor to nursing students. 

 

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience: 

  •  Hold a doctoral degree (DNP, EdD, PhD) in nursing or education

  • Must be eligible for a NH nursing license

  • Have 2-4 years of nursing education experience.

  • Ability to work effectively with a culturally and academically diverse student population  

  • Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, external constituents)  

  • Strong written and oral communication skills  

  • Proven dedication to student learning  

Required Licenses and Certifications

  • Must be eligible for NH RN License

  • Current BLS

  • Must be able to provide health documentation as required by clinical agency agreements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with college-age and non-traditional students. 

  • Skill in working with culturally diverse constituencies in the academic environment. 

  • Ability to cultivate external relationships with community leaders, institutions, and stakeholders. 

  • Experience teaching via online learning management systems 

  • Demonstrated ability to work with faculty, staff, and students as well as community groups of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, sexual orientation, disability and ethnic backgrounds

Compensation Pay Range:

$80,0000-100,000
