About Eleanor Health

Our mission at Eleanor Health is to help anyone affected by addiction live an amazing life. We are passionate about transforming the quality, delivery, and accessibility of addiction treatment.

Eleanor Health is a best-in-class substance use disorder (SUD) care provider, utilizing Medication for Addiction Treatment, behavioral health therapy, and broader wellness and social support. Eleanor delivers accessible, evidence-based, and clinically excellent care supported by innovative technology, as a multi-site clinical provider. Eleanor offers community members a sustainable path to recovery by addressing behavioral and social determinants of substance use, in tandem with medical needs.

About the Role

We're looking for a Clinical Trainer whose first priority is making our medical team confident, competent, and efficient in Athena from day one and supporting their long term success in providing high quality and compliant care. This role owns onboarding and competency verification, follows up post-hire with audits and coaching, and runs continuing education and our Learning Management System.

This is best suited to a nurse or other medical professional (RN or similar clinical/medical background) who is looking to move out of direct patient care and into a role built on teaching, coaching, and empowerment.

What You'll Do

Onboarding & Competency

  • Own onboarding end to end for all organizational team members, including facilitating trainings, evolving training content and completing competency checklists that verify skills directly
  • Serve as the team's go-to expert on Athena and EHR workflows; provide spot trainings and detailed 1:1 feedback on documentation, workflow, and system navigation as needed
  • Continuously streamline onboarding content and checklists to shorten ramp-up time

Quality Assurance

  • Follow up with medical staff on a regular cadence after onboarding, auditing documentation and practice against what they were trained to do and coaching to correct drift early
  • Share audit feedback with both the individual and their supervisor, and track/report on training adherence using quantitative and qualitative data

Training, Curriculum & LMS

  • Coordinate and facilitate continuing education (in additional to general onboarding), and train other facilitators to lead or co-lead courses
  • Design original SUD/behavioral health training content and curriculum, applying adult learning principles and individualized learning plans by clinician, role, or team
  • Serve as subject matter expert for our Learning Management System, owning its accuracy, efficiency, and reporting

Quality & Compliance

  • Assess clinical quality and competency across disciplines (nursing, therapy, medical, care coordination) and partner with medical and Ops leadership to close workflow and quality gaps
  • Ensure training materials comply with state, federal, and accreditation standards (e.g., CARF), and keep them current as Athena, evidence, and regulation evolve

Who You Are:

Detailed and patient — you notice the small things and coach on them without making someone feel small. Culturally aligned with the team you're onboarding, energized by helping someone go from unsure to confident, and comfortable being trusted for honest, specific feedback long after someone's first week. You enjoy building relationships across markets and disciplines, write clearly, and are just as comfortable teaching one person through a workflow as leading a room.

You'll Be a Good Fit If You Have:

  • Active RN license or equivalent medical background, with direct behavioral health and/or SUD clinical experience (required)
  • Hands-on expertise with Athena or a comparable EHR from a clinical workflow perspective (required)
  • Experience designing and facilitating clinical training or curriculum, ideally including LMS experience, adult learning theory, and instructional design
  • Genuine interest in training, coaching, and process rather than returning to direct patient care — comfortable being the external, accountability-holding presence, not a peer
  • Comfortable with basic statistics and data-driven reporting on training adherence
  • Strong public speaking and facilitation skills; able to grasp new concepts quickly and adapt to rapid change
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time, fluctuating as needed

Compensation & Benefits

The total target compensation range for this position is $70-80,000. This depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.
