Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading the analysis and research to roadmap existing technologies and plan for future upgrades/enhancements, AWS cloud migration, reengineering, and products/solutions replacement
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand solution requirements and identify architectural patterns
- Develop a unified strategy for transitioning IT services to AWS cloud-hosted services
- Perform trade off analysis between various AWS service offering and recommend optimal service for the requirement
- Serve as the ‘go-to-person' for cloud-related solutions and for designing end-to-end scalable and resilient cloud architectures and defining cloud migration strategies
- Monitor compliance of cloud resources to see if they fit industry guardrails and best practices
- Research and propose solutions for AWS data transformation, data connections, operational frameworks, and application integration
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluate alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyze for total systems
- Ensure clarity and compliance with the organization's architectural standards and documents functional and non-functional requirements
- Additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or other related fields
- Demonstrated hands on experience migrating several on-prem applications to AWS
- 5+ years of experience with public, private, and/or AWS hybrid cloud services and the planning, development, migration, administration or integration of applications and services from on-premises infrastructure to cloud-based Platform-as-a-Service and/or Infrastructure-as-a-Service formats
- Expertise in the procedures that ensure effective and efficient use of cloud computing
- Strong experience in architecting AWS cloud migration solutions
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with AWS
- Experience with building and delivering Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions using SAML, LDAP, and related technologies
- Experience with cloud relational and NoSQL databases
- Able to explain complex problems to stakeholders and customers in layman’s terms
- Exposure to cloud managed services and microservices like Function as a Service, Containers, and managed databases
- Expertise in Amazon AWS Cloud Administration which includes services like EC2, S3, EBS, VPC, ELB, AMI, SNS, RDS, IAM, Route 53, Autoscaling, AWS cost management, Cloud Front, Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail, Cloud Formation, Terraform, OPS Work, Security Groups
- AWS cloud certification desirable
- Experience with Government cloud migrations is a plus
