About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to design, implement, and maintain the scalable, secure cloud infrastructure that powers our products. This is a critical role for the organization. The reliability, performance, and security of our cloud environment directly shape the experience we deliver to our customers. We welcome candidates with strong experience in Microsoft Azure or other major cloud platforms.
You will work closely with engineers across both domestic and offshore teams to deliver high quality software solutions that improve the experience for property managers and residents. You will act as an influential technical leader, helping shape cloud and DevOps practices, mentoring team members, and driving complex initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture and Design
- Design and implement cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure services for compute, container orchestration, and managed databases
- Develop reference architectures and best practices for scalable, resilient, and cost-effective infrastructure
- Lead architecture reviews and provide technical guidance to development teams
- Create and maintain infrastructure as code using industry standard tooling
Security and Compliance
- Ensure cloud infrastructure design aligns with SOC requirements, including access controls, logging, monitoring, and change management
- Implement cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, role-based access control, and network segmentation
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for third party compliance auditors, supporting audits, evidence collection, and remediation
- Maintain documentation required for SOC audits, including system descriptions, data flow diagrams, and control mappings
- Own security relevant configuration and controls for cloud infrastructure
Infrastructure Support and Maintenance
- Monitor virtual machine resource utilization, including CPU, memory, disk, and network performance, and take corrective action to address capacity or performance issues
- Apply operating system and security patches to virtual machines at a regular cadence, minimizing downtime and disruption to production systems
- Perform routine platform maintenance, including software updates, configuration changes, and health checks across cloud environments
- Monitor system logs and alerts to identify and troubleshoot infrastructure issues before they impact users
- Respond to and resolve infrastructure related incidents, escalating as needed and documenting root cause and remediation steps
Operations and Reliability
- Design for high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity across cloud regions
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using industry standard observability tools
- Optimize cloud costs through right sizing, reserved capacity, and governance policies
- Support incident response efforts related to cloud infrastructure
Collaboration and Leadership
- Partner with engineering and leadership to align cloud strategy with business goals
- Act as a liaison between internal teams and external compliance auditors
- Mentor engineers on cloud architecture best practices
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing solutions on major cloud platforms
- Strong understanding of SOC requirements and experience supporting compliance audits, including working with external auditors
- Strong cloud networking and systems administration skills, including experience with virtual networks, subnets, firewalls, load balancing, DNS, and server configuration and maintenance
- Hands-on experience with identity management and security services
- Experience with infrastructure as code tooling
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Strong understanding of encryption, key management, and secure data handling
- Comfort owning security related decisions independently
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Cloud architecture or security certifications from major cloud providers
- Experience with hybrid or multi cloud environments
- Familiarity with other compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, PCI DSS, or GDPR
- Experience with container orchestration platforms
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment
This role operates in a fully remote work environment. This role routinely uses standard home office equipment and technology such as computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, and peripheral devices.
