Commercial Security Service Sales Executive

Johnson Controls Security helps protect people and property with services and technology tailored to commercial customers. In this role, you'll represent the brand in your assigned territory, build trusted relationships, and help customers secure the right solutions for their needs.

Role Overview

You will drive growth by promoting and selling Johnson Controls Security services and technology to new and existing commercial customers. This is a relationship-focused sales role with responsibility for new business development, account expansion, renewals, and customer satisfaction. You will serve as a trusted point of contact for customers in your territory, identifying opportunities, building referrals, and delivering a professional experience from first conversation through post-installation follow-up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and sell Johnson Controls Security services and technology within an assigned territory.
  • Create new market share by selling to new local commercial customers.
  • Sell additional products and services to existing accounts and identify new opportunities for account growth.
  • Renew existing customer agreements and manage resale opportunities within your territory.
  • Identify prospects using creative lead-generation techniques and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
  • Establish call plans and follow-up strategies while managing your time and territory effectively.
  • Build referral networks and develop relationships with Centers of Influence.
  • Process work orders and complete paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Conduct post-installation follow-up to confirm commitments were met and customer satisfaction remains strong.
How You Will Do It
  • Adhere to Johnson Controls Security policies, procedures, products, programs, and services while representing the brand professionally in every customer interaction.
  • Own your territory with accountability and strong follow-through, using structured call planning, consistent outreach, and disciplined next steps.
  • Stay close to customer needs and remove obstacles quickly so opportunities move forward and customers feel supported throughout the sales cycle.
  • Improve every day through training, research, and candid problem-solving to keep your product knowledge sharp and your approach effective.
  • Work as one team by partnering with internal resources, building trust with Centers of Influence, and sharing information that supports better customer outcomes.
  • Use accurate documentation and timely work-order processing to support a smooth customer experience and reliable internal coordination.
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a successful commercial sales representative in security, IT, or technology sales.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior-level executives.
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule.
  • Available for local travel.
Preferred
  • College degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed quota.

Salary Range: HIRING SALARY RANGE: $55k-80k (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role also offers a competitive Sales Incentive Plan that will take into account volume and margin on a project, quarterly, and annual basis. This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for
