Job Summary: 

The Compensation and Benefits Analyst researches, analyzes, and contributes to the maintenance of the organization's pay structure and benefits programs. They analyze wage and salary data, monitor market conditions, and work with benefits vendors. This role also involves educating employees and other HR team members about compensation and benefits programs and issues, ensuring compliance with regulations, and recommending improvements to existing programs. 


Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of compensation and benefits strategies, including salary structures, incentive plans, and benefits programs.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining job descriptions, evaluating job classifications, and determining salary ranges.
  • Ensures data is correct in the HRIS system and prepares reports and presentations for management. 
  • Conducts market research, participates in salary surveys, and analyzes and benchmarks compensation data to ensure competitiveness. Responsible for job promotions, transitions and local market analyses, and other compensation projects as assigned.
  • Responsible for day-to-day administration of benefits and wellness plans, including health and welfare, retirement and leave administration, and benefits invoices. 
  • Responsible for creating and monitoring benefits data files and exception reports, including life event changes, benefit payroll deductions, and other administrative activities.
  • Establishes and maintains all processes and procedures documents, and builds strong relationships with benefit vendors. 
  • Assists with annual programs, including but not limited to incentive management, salary planning, and annual enrollment. 
  • Understand all legal and compliance reporting requirements related to compensation and benefit programs.
  • Communicates with employees about their compensation and benefits plans and programs, including addressing pay and incentive issues, benefits enrollment and plan changes procedures, and addressing any questions they may have.  
  • Researches and responds to employee questions via mail and the benefits inbox. Works closely with broader HR, Finance, and Payroll teams to address issues.
  • Responsible for preparing, reviewing, and distributing routine employee and compliance communications to employees. Responsible for distributing emails to HR and associates. Partners with vendors or other third-party printers to distribute mailings.
  • Assists in any other projects as requested.


Requirements Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of relevant business experience in general HR required OR 5+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.  
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to work independently
  • Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and other systems


Skills/ Competencies

  • Knowledge of compensation and benefits principles. Understand base pay, incentives, health and welfare programs, retirement and leave administration programs and their regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze and interpret data, identify trends, and make recommendations. 
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues related to compensation and benefits.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite with exceptional skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of ADP a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to manage conflict.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
