Product Technical Writer
The Role
- Partner with product leadership, product marketing, engineering teams, and cross-functional teams to deliver documentation and knowledge to our employees and customers
- Create and manage Knowledge Base content, such as feature articles, demo videos, how-to, and tip sheets that will be made available to customers through our customer facing site, Fusion Central
- Create base documentation (content and features and delta docs) on core products and solutions and work with product, sales, and services to make that content available to the rest of the organization
- Own content creation for Fusion Trailhead Training Modules, the enablement experience platform for communicating training of our product features to Employees, Customers, and Partners
- Manage product knowledge for internal users housed in SharePoint, including solution and product sites and pages for specific program releases
- Develop a deep understanding of user profiles and client needs to articulate technical solutions to common business problems
- Develop knowledge in all areas of the Fusion Framework System and related products, and how they enable client organizations to build resiliency
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience (Product Technical Writer, Marketing Writer, Quality Assurance Engineering, etc.)
- You have experience taking challenging, complex ideas and concepts and making them understandable and appealing to diverse audiences
- You want to mix creativity with technical fluency to author engaging and inspiring text that delights and enlightens users without confusing them
- You enjoy deeply understanding what you're writing about, so you understand not just how it works, but why it matters to users and buyers. You serve as the voice of our users when collaborating with engineering. You figure out the best way to get customers the info they need, and you find ways to continually improve and iterate upon what you've provided
- You have the flexibility and openness to adopt our style and processes to what you create, but also aren't afraid to suggest improvements that benefit our collaborators and customers
- You love writing for different audiences, from end users to admins to developers
- You gracefully accept feedback, knowing when to push back on feedback you disagree with and when to accept feedback that will lead to better outcomes
- Strong writing skills, ability to create technical product documentation and instructional materials
- Ability to be a self-starter; demonstrating the ability to work independently and collaborate with multiple teams
- Passionate about working in a small team and fast-moving entrepreneurial environment
