The Curriculum Technical Writer will prepare training manuals for multiple Corptax products. In addition, this role will also work with the Media Design team to produce training videos.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in technical communications or similar field
- Some experience with a single sourcing tool, preferably MadCap Flare
Business Skills
- Collects technical information by working extensively with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), both inside and outside of the University group, to obtain necessary information for developing learning materials.
- Develops information that applies strong writing skills with consideration to clarity, organization, grammar, spelling, consistency, and presentation
- Edits information to conform to style guidelines
- Responsible for ensuring accurate software task/function procedures and real-life case study examples while maintaining technical accuracy and conformance to the company’s documentation standards.
- Reviews a SMEs edits for accuracy and appropriateness (e.g. Does the title of a new section match the corresponding text?). Answers these questions for the team as they arise.
- Completes assignments in a timely manner
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Adobe Captivate as well as preferred knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Camtasia
Communication
- Expresses ideas clearly and succinctly
- Prepares clear, concise and convincing written communications

- Demonstrates effective presentation skills
- Expresses ideas clearly and confidently before large and small groups, both within and outside Corptax
