We are looking for a Technical Writer for our growing team, this role can be based in San Diego or REMOTE. As the Technical Writer, you will write new content and confirm integrity of standard RFP response materials in company knowledge base repository. You will also create customer communications that deliver content through a wide range of target audiences.
Skills
- Minimum experience of three years writing or editing technical documents
- Four-year degree/certification in technical communication or related field
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, and image editing software
- Experience with Markdown, HTML, XML, and other languages used in the creation of online documentation
- Experience using Git and SharePoint for documentation management
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Strong research and organization skills
- Ability to learn new software applications quickly
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment
- Must be able to maintain focus and write at the computer for long periods of time
- Outstanding attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by peers and subject matter experts in a timely manner
- Analyze design specifications and requirements with project managers, sales, and other appropriate stakeholders
- Gather complex technical data and translate it into accurate, easy-to-understand content for a wide range of target audiences
- Participate on multiple platforms, including knowledge bases and issue trackers, to ensure all documentation needs are met
- Foster an environment where every level offers ideas to improve any aspect of the team (e.g. efficiency, process, morale)
- Perform effectively as a team member
- Communicate issues or risks to project leads
- Provide peers with assistance
- Adapt to change in projects and the organization
- Seek opportunities to fulfill goals in career plan, such as training or project tasks.
- Understand and anticipate customer business needs
- Proactively search for opportunities to exceed customer expectations
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
