Role Overview

The Contractor Acquisition Manager (CAM) is responsible for acquiring new contractor customers in the Chicago market. This is a front-end acquisition role focused on introducing contractors to TradeKart, onboarding them onto the platform, and guiding them through their initial purchasing activity.

The CAM owns the contractor journey from first contact through a second completed order. Once a contractor has successfully placed two orders, the account is transitioned to the Sales Manager for long-term relationship management and growth.

  • Build and manage an outbound prospect pipeline through phone calls, email, virtual meetings, field visits, referrals and events
  • Conduct informed outreach based on contractor trade, size, and purchasing behavior

Contractor Education & Onboarding

  • Clearly explain what Tradekart is, how the platform works, and why it’s valuable to contractors
  • Meet contractors where needed at job sites, offices, or virtual meetings
  • Guide contractors through app download, account setup and first order placement

Adoption & Follow-Up

  • Drive repeat orders through consistent follow-up and education
  • Address early questions or friction points in coordination with Operations
  • Track contractor progress from initial contact through successful acquisition

Internal Handoff & Feedback

  • Transition fully acquired contractors to the Sales Manager with clear context and notes
  • Share contractor feedback and market insights with the General Manager, Sales, and Operations teams

Requirements

  • Experience working with contractors, skilled trades, or construction-related businesses; background in supplier-side or outside sales roles are a plus
  • Familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce, Hubspot or similar is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to source and engage new customers through research, cold outreach, and consistent follow-up
  • Comfortable meeting contractors on job sites or in offices, as well as conducting virtual onboarding or demo calls
  • Strong understanding of contractor purchasing behavior and how materials are sourced
  • Self-directed and highly organized, with strong time management skills and the ability to operate independently in a fast moving, early stage environment.

Why Join TradeKart

  • Be a part of a fun, fast-growing team solving real, everyday challenges for contractors with a proposition they genuinely value
