Company Overview

The Compliance Services Organization didn't exist. We built it.

MedPro Disposal is the nation's largest privately-held medical waste company, serving 35,000+ healthcare providers across 48 states for the past 15 years. On that foundation, we launched MP1 Solutions to pioneer the Compliance Services Organization (CSO) — a new category of operating partner built to replace the fragmented vendor model that has defined healthcare compliance for decades. MP1 Solutions extends MedPro Disposal's operational infrastructure, vendor network, and customer trust into a category we're actively building — and leading — with a technology-forward approach that's making this model smarter, faster, and more scalable as we grow.

What we do: We operate as the single compliance partner for non-acute healthcare facilities — consolidating every obligation into one coordinated program, assigning one dedicated account manager as the point of accountability, and actively managing the underlying vendor ecosystem through continuous evaluation, negotiation, and optimization on the practice's behalf.

Why it matters: Regulated facilities across the country are managing compliance the same fragmented way they always have. We're changing that, backed by 15 years of MedPro Disposal's operational credibility — and we're looking for people who want to help build what comes next.

Our technology: We're actively building the AI infrastructure that sits behind this model — automating compliance tracking, surfacing risks before they become problems, and creating a system that gets smarter with every client we add. If you want to build at the intersection of compliance and technology, you're in the right place.

Our impact: Our clients never have to worry about something falling through the cracks — obligations are coordinated, tracked, and documented in one place. We audit costs, eliminate overcharges, and deliver proof of compliance that always keeps practices inspection ready. Every client has one dedicated account manager who owns their program end to end. And unlike a traditional vendor relationship, our model is designed to get better over time — continuously re-evaluated, optimized, and improved with every client we serve.

Position Overview:

The Controller exists to own the financial backbone of a scaling, multi-company organization — keeping the books accurate, timely, and audit-ready every month. The role starts inside MedPro Disposal and extends across Accordant Capital’s portfolio of operating companies, including MP1 Solutions and future portfolio additions. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this is a hands-on role: owning the full accounting cycle and close, developing the controls and processes a growing business needs, and bringing modern ERP/FP&A tooling, AI-enabled automation, and operating discipline (EOS or a similar system) to the accounting function. Success looks like a close that runs like clockwork across every company, consolidations that reconcile cleanly, and a well-run accounting operation the executive team can rely on.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the full accounting cycle — general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end close
  • Manage financial consolidation, intercompany transactions and eliminations, and consolidated reporting in partnership with the VP of Finance as the finance function expands across multiple companies
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, daily cash positioning, and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP, at the individual company and consolidated level
  • Develop and maintain internal financial controls and accounting policies; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A in partnership with the VP of Finance, including budget-to-actual reporting
  • Directly manage and mentor a small finance/accounting team, ensuring accurate, well-documented work across the function
  • Maintain and optimize accounting systems and ERP (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar); identify gaps in existing processes and implement scalable improvements
  • Apply AI and automation tools to streamline reconciliations, close, and recurring reporting
  • Support the operating cadence with finance scorecards, quarterly priorities, and accountability rhythms (EOS/Traction or a similar operating system)

Required Qualifications:

  • Years of experience: 8–9 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including a minimum of 2–5 years in a Controller or equivalent leadership role
  • Industry background: Demonstrated experience in a startup, founder-led, or PE-backed small-company environment (under 200 employees)
  • Multi-entity scope: Hands-on multi-entity accounting experience — intercompany transactions, eliminations, and consolidations
  • Technical skills: Strong command of GAAP and financial reporting standards; proficiency in accounting/ERP software and Microsoft Excel
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Other: Hands-on experience with bank reconciliation, cash management, and financial close processes

Big Pluses:

  • EOS experience — working within the Entrepreneurial Operating System (scorecards, Rocks, Level 10 meetings) or a comparable operating cadence
  • AI experience — practical use of AI and automation tools in close, reconciliation, or reporting workflows
  • FP&A and ERP tools — FP&A exposure and hands-on experience with modern ERP and planning platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Adaptive, Planful, Cube, or similar)

Nice-to-Have:

  • CPA or CMA certification
  • Experience in healthcare, waste management, logistics, or a service-based industry
  • Familiarity with HR administrative processes and people operations
  • Track record of building finance teams and processes in a growing, multi-company environment

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base salary of $125K
  • Total Compensation at Plan (OTE): of $125K–$143K
  • Meaningful Impact: Join a mission-driven company helping healthcare providers strengthen compliance so they can focus on patient care
  • Ownership & Growth: Help shape the future of our sales organization and AI-enabled tools in an entrepreneurial, fast-growing environment
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your family
  • Work-Life Balance: Generous PTO, paid holidays, and a collaborative, high-energy culture
