Reports to: Assistant General Counsel

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid - 2x/week in-office)

About the Role

CSC Generation is growing its legal team to keep pace with an expanding portfolio of brands and increasing transactional complexity. As Corporate Counsel / Sr. Corporate Counsel, you will serve as a trusted advisor across multiple business units, handling commercial contracts, real estate agreements, M&A support, and litigation management.

In your first 6–12 months, success means owning your contracting workflow end-to-end, building strong relationships with business stakeholders across brands, and becoming the go-to legal resource for day-to-day commercial and operational matters.

This is a lean team. You will own a lot, move fast, and make decisions with full end-to-end responsibility.

What You'll Do

  • Support M&A transactions and joint ventures, including due diligence and deal documentation
  • Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements including vendor, supplier, marketing/advertising, licensing, and IT contracts
  • Assist with procurement, compliance, and human capital management
  • Draft and negotiate real estate agreements across the brand portfolio
  • Advise business teams on operations, initiatives, and risk across multiple brands
  • Manage and improve contract lifecycle processes and templates
  • Work cross-functionally across the legal department and multiple business units to deliver practical legal guidance

Required Qualifications

  • JD degree and active license to practice law
  • 3+ years of relevant legal experience, including in M&A, commercial contracting, and/or real estate
  • Experience in one or more of the following: intellectual property, data privacy, marketing/advertising, and/or litigation
  • Prior in-house experience (particularly at a public company) and/or law firm experience
  • Ability to leverage artificial intelligence in your day-to-day work
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization

Why Join

The people who do best here are builders. They take ownership, move fast, and want to see the direct impact of their work.

  • Cross-Functional Impact: Your work touches every brand in the portfolio — from commercial deals and M&A to litigation and operations, you will see the direct results of your counsel across the business.
  • Skill Building: Gain broad exposure across legal disciplines including M&A, real estate, IP, data privacy, and litigation in a multi-brand retail environment.
  • Ownership: Own your workstreams end-to-end. You will manage contracts, advise on transactions, and drive legal outcomes without layers of approval.
  • Competitive Benefits: Paid time off policies, 401(k) match, medical/dental/vision and a variety of supplemental policies, and employee discounts across our portfolio of brands.
  • Salary: $150,000-$185,000 + bonus

Interview Process

    1. Recruiter Screen - A 30-minute conversation with our recruiting team to align on the role, your background, and what you are looking for.
    2. Hiring Manager Interview - Conversation with the Assistant General Counsel focused on your commercial contracting experience, legal judgment, and approach to cross-functional advising.
    3. In-Person Interview - We'd like to meet you at our Chicago office. Details and logistics will be arranged with your recruiter.
    4. Reference Checks - Conducted in parallel with the final stages where possible.
    5. Offer - We move quickly for the right candidate.
