Position Summary:
Jet Support Services, Inc. (JSSI) is seeking an experienced, business-minded Corporate Counsel to join our Legal Department at our global headquarters in Chicago. This attorney will play a key role in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and supporting strategic initiatives across JSSI’s international business. The ideal candidate is a proactive and collaborative professional who enjoys working closely with business leaders in a fast-paced environment to enable growth while managing legal and commercial risk.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, including customer, technology, and service agreements.
- Partner with business teams to structure and close commercial transactions that align with company strategy.
- Respond quickly to complex legal requests and contracting needs.
- Translate risks into actionable, clear legal advice to internal clients.
- Spot issues and look around corners to anticipate issues and protect the business.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Contracts, Finance, Operations, HR, and other teams to support business objectives and ensure alignment with legal requirements.
- Develop and improve contract templates, playbooks, and processes to enhance efficiency and consistency.
- Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic initiatives.
- Manage outside counsel as needed for specialized matters.
Desired Credentials:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant legal experience, including significant experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
- In-house or large law firm experience preferred.
- Strong business judgment and ability to translate complex legal issues into practical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and geographies.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Experience managing a high-volume workload and triaging competing priorities.
- Prior experience in the aviation, technology, or services industries is a plus but not required.

For this role, the annual base pay generally ranges from $175,000 to $195,000, with the final offer determined by variable factors including but not limited to market location, job-specific knowledge, skills, education, and experience. In addition, your total rewards package may include an annual discretionary bonus plan, incentive or sales bonus plan, or other form of additional compensation, based on your role.
