The Customer Relationship Management Freelancer for B1G+ will be responsible for crafting and distributing social content (@BigTenPlus on X), push notifications, and in-app messages to drive prospect and subscriber engagement through social and mobile channels, in service of subscriber conversion and retention. B1G+ is the network’s direct-to-consumer subscription service for thousands of live non-televised games, next day on-demand replays, 18 school channels programmed 24 hours a day and access to Big Ten Network’s library of previous season classics and original programming. The ideal candidate has experience in social media (content creation, short-form copywriting, distribution) and working in a fast-paced environment.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement, and manage the @BigTenPlus account on X
- Contribute to content creation, planning, and scheduling across multiple platforms (social, mobile, TV)
- Write clear and concise copy
- Manage @BigTenPlus (X), push notifications, and in-app messaging in real-time for live events
- Ensure all published content follows industry policies and best practices
- Collaborate with CRM Coordinator, CRM Manager, and Digital Designers daily
- Stay on top of trends and suggest creative ideas for engaging B1G+ followers and subscribers
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Robust knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices
- Exhibit strong written and communication skills, can write creatively and with brevity
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Able to work non-traditional hours, which will include nights and weekends
NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, marketing, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Passion for sports, particularly college/Big Ten sports
