Tecovas is looking for a Data & Analytics Intern to embark on a data-driven journey to understand customer lifetime value. Reporting directly to the Data Analyst, you will take on a clearly phased project, starting with foundational KPI reporting and progressing to more advanced Predictive Lifetime Value (PLTV) analysis. Additionally, you will collaborate with business users, build key reports, and develop a predictive model, culminating in a final presentation of your analysis and findings.

This position is based out of Austin, TX with regular in office attendance expected. Must be available for the full duration of the internship (12 weeks).

Please note that this internship opportunity is available only to current and active Tecovas employees. If you are not a Tecovas employee, you will not be considered for this position.

What you’ll do:

  • Meet with business stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document requirements for KPI reports.
  • Write and execute advanced SQL queries to extract and transform customer and sales data.
  • Develop and validate the logic for calculating key metrics such as Active Customers, Cross-Category purchasing, and PLTV.
  • Build and update data visualizations and dashboards in a BI tool to make reports accessible and understandable.
  • Analyze and interpret data trends to provide insights and identify anomalies.
  • Collaborate with a mentor on data modeling techniques for the Predictive Lifetime Value (PLTV) project.
  • Document data sources, definitions, and query logic to ensure your work is repeatable and understandable

Experience we’re looking for:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Advanced SQL and data manipulation skills.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and predictive analytics fundamentals.
  • Experience with stakeholder management, requirements gathering, and data storytelling

Requirements

  • Must be located in the Austin, TX area 
  • Must be available to work up to 32 hours per week, Monday - Friday (between the hours of 8AM-5PM CST)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds regularly 
  • Internship program culminates with a presentation to our leadership team summarizing your experience at Tecovas with key takeaways and feedback regarding the program.
