- Supporting the execution of the enterprise data governance framework through hands‑on analysis and coordination.
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of data governance policies, standards, and guidelines, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Partnering with business and technical data stewards to help establish and document data ownership and stewardship responsibilities.
- Contributing to the iterative development of metadata management practices, including documenting business definitions and technical attributes.
- Assisting with data catalog and data dictionary enhancements, including data definitions, classifications, lineage references, and usage context.
- Supporting data quality initiatives by:
- Helping define and document data quality rules and thresholds
- Tracking data quality metrics and issues
- Assisting with issue triage, root cause analysis, and remediation coordination
- Collaborating with Data Privacy and Security teams to help ensure appropriate data classification and compliance with applicable requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Working with Data Engineering and delivery teams to support governance processes affecting the Enterprise Data Lake and downstream analytics.
- Participating in agile ceremonies (planning, refinements, retrospectives) for data governance initiatives.
- Helping maintain and update backlogs, documentation, and governance artifacts to support transparency and prioritization.
- Assisting in the preparation of governance dashboards, reports, and metrics to support ongoing monitoring and decision‑making.
- Supporting training and enablement efforts by helping develop documentation, guides, and reference materials related to data governance practices.
- Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities to enhance governance processes and adoption.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, data management, analytics, or related roles.
- Foundational understanding of data governance concepts, including data quality, metadata, data ownership, and stewardship.
- Experience working in an Agile or iterative delivery environment.
- Exposure to data governance tools, data catalogs, or metadata management platforms.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data quality metrics and trends.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Hands‑on experience with data governance or catalog tools such as Alation, Collibra, or Informatica.
- Familiarity with regulatory concepts related to data privacy and security.
- Professional certifications or coursework related to data management or governance (e.g., CDMP, DGSP, or similar).
