The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is seeking a highly motivated Data Platform Operations Engineer; this position will allow for full time telework from any U.S. based location.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Leidos is seeking a skilled Data Platform Operations Engineer to join our team in support of advanced analytics, AI/ML and agentic AI business requests. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting reliable, optimized, and scalable Data Platform solutions for supporting data pipelines. The candidate should have experience working with cloud service platforms including workflow schedulers, container tools, and data storage solutions for structured and unstructured data. This position requires experience in setting up Rest API connections, platform and application security, and backup/recovery solutions. The Engineer will also have administrative experience supporting tools including support for Data Integration, Data Governance, and Data Quality. The candidate will also have strong communication skills and collaborate with development teams and functional users in support of building Data Product foundations supporting AI and Innovations projects.       

 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and build the foundational data architecture for data storage and processing. 
  • Administer, optimize, and secure various Data Platforms in support of Data pipelines.  
  • Support administration and configuration changes to Servers across environments. 
  • Support user and developer requests for utilizing the Data Platform Solutions to build successful Data Products. 
  • Collaborate with data engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure alignment to Use Case. 
  • Configure and optimize the data platforms to ensure the teams meet the Data Contracts for currency, throughput, and performance. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.. 
  • 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a related field. 
  • Proficiency in APIs and server side scripting. 
  • Experience with AWS and Azure Cloud Servers and Architecture. 
  • Experience with applying strong Security policies to the Data Platform environment.  
  • Strong SQL and relational database skills. 
  • Experience and understanding of large Cloud storage solutions such as Snowflake, Azure Blob Storage and AWS S3.      
  • Familiarity with Data Governance and Data Quality concepts and best practices. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities. 
  • U.S. Citizenship required.  
     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with structured, semi structured and unstructured data. 
  • Experience supporting projects for AI, ML, and Advanced Analytics. 
  • Experience with Snowflake Cloud Data Platform.  
  • Experience with Collibra Data Governance and Data Quality. 
  • Experience with Informatica IDMC SaaS, Terraform, dbt.

Pay Range:Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
