Who are we?

ElectronX™ is the first U.S.-regulated, direct access electricity derivatives market, offering financial products to address volatile short-term price exposure to electricity. With offices in Chicago and New York City, ElectronX is building the missing financial infrastructure and risk management tools necessary to smooth the path for U.S. energy production, diversification and grid expansion in a time of rapidly increasing power demand. ElectronX is a venture capital-backed startup supported by premier VC partners including Innovation Endeavors, Systemiq Capital, Equinor Ventures, Shell Ventures LLC, DCVC, Amplo, BoxGroup and Lightning Capital.

Who are we looking for?

As a fast-growing company in the highly competitive, quantitative capital markets industry, ElectronX values candidates who are resourceful, curious and adaptable to change. Our cultural focus on innovation requires collaborative and entrepreneurial teammates with the intellectual grit necessary for near- and long-term success.

What will you be doing?

ElectronX is building a data services business alongside its core derivatives exchange, with a mandate to turn raw exchange data into structured products that customers love and are willing to pay for. You will be the operator who turns strategy into concrete artifacts: data definitions, specs, catalogs, documentation, and early GTM motions.

Operating under the direct oversight of Executive Management and working closely with our Product & Strategy, Operations, Legal, Commercial, and Engineering stakeholders, you will serve as the primary owner and lead architect of our Data Services roadmap.

Drive GTM and distribution

  • Help map products to customer segments and update the customer-product matrix as offerings evolve.

  • Build the initial collateral (one-pagers, simple decks) that Commercial and Marketing can use in early conversations.

  • Partner with Commercial teams to test pricing constructs and capture learnings.

Program manage the data services roadmap

  • Run a lightweight operating cadence for data services: backlog grooming, release notes, and cross-functional check-ins.

  • Ensure we hit defined deliverables and that we are consistently evolving and iterating on our data product offerings

Shape the data model and product catalog

  • Maintain and evolve the canonical data model (entities, keys, hierarchies) in partnership with engineering.

  • Own the living product catalog spreadsheet: product names, descriptions, user personas, and indicative pricing tiers.

Drive packaging and integration readiness

  • Build concrete specs for delivery methods (websocket, FIX, REST, files, cloud).

  • Draft external-facing spec outlines and documentation for flagship feeds/APIs.

  • Coordinate with Legal and Compliance on entitlements and licensing patterns.

Run customer discovery and feedback loops

  • Execute the voice-of-customer plan: recruit and manage design partners, schedule and run interviews, gather feedback.

  • Use discovery templates and surveys, and turn qualitative inputs into structured insights.

  • Maintain the prioritization scoring model and regularly update rankings of data product ideas.

What we need from you?
  • 4–7 years of experience in one or more of: exchange or vendor market data, product management, data product operations, or related roles.

  • Comfortable working with technical teams; you don’t have to code, but you can read and reason about schemas, fields, and data models.

  • Strong communicator who can turn messy input into clean artifacts: tables, specs, slides, and simple narratives.

  • Detail-oriented and organized; you like owning the spreadsheet, the Confluence space, and the “source of truth.”

  • Excited by 0–1 environments where part of the job is defining process and structure, not just following it.

Benefits
  • Health, vision and dental insurance

  • 401K

  • Supplemental health and disability insurance

  • Unlimited vacation
