The Data Science Intern will support the Data Science team by conducting research, performing data analysis, and collaborating with team members to solve business problems using statistical and machine learning techniques.
Summary:
The Data Science Intern will experience a full immersion within our Data Science team and hone their skills by conducting research alongside our Data Scientists. The candidate will have ample opportunity to participate in and contribute to the day-to-day operations of the Data Science Team such as project planning, data analysis, model development and validation, and meetings with business partners. Specific responsibilities will be determined based on the candidate’s abilities, background, and interests.
Primary Responsibilities:- Apply your creative and analytical skills by conducting in-depth exploratory data analysis on real-world datasets
- Help us solve complex business problems using data visualizations, statistical analysis, machine learning, and other advanced analytics.
- Collaborate with data scientists by researching innovative approaches to similar problems in finance and other industries
- Participate in meetings and discussions with key stakeholders to begin thinking and solving problems as a ‘business-minded’ data scientist
- Must be a Master’s degree candidate in a technical or data-related field as a rising junior or senior
- Possesses a strong understanding of statistics and mathematics concepts
- Proficient in Python and SQL (DataBricks, Spark, Azure a plus)
- Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work well in a team environment
- Creative problem-solver with impeccable attention to detail
- Well-versed in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
