Job Description:

Position Overview

We are seeking a Data Scientist to play a key role in harnessing data-driven intelligence to support capital deployment, valuation models, and performance optimization for our clients. This role will focus on advanced analytics, machine learning, and predictive modeling to generate actionable insights that drive business outcomes. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong technical background in data science and a passion for financial and market analytics.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Leadership & Strategy

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive data science strategy that aligns with HCR’s business objectives and investment priorities.

    • Identify opportunities for data-driven improvements by collaborating with cross-functional teams, including finance, technology, and HCR business units.

    • Lead the integration of advanced analytics and AI-driven decision-making across business strategies, operational workflows, and monetization initiatives.

    • Advise & Influence senior leadership and external stakeholders by providing thought leadership on how data science can create competitive advantages.

  • Data Science & Advanced Analytics

    • Develop and deploy predictive and prescriptive models to inform business strategy, risk assessments, and yield/performance optimization.

    • Apply machine learning, AI, and econometric modeling to identify patterns and forecast financial and market trends.

    • Conduct A/B testing and statistical analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of pricing, monetization, and operational strategies.

  • Data Engineering & Infrastructure

    • Leverage data science to provide quantitative support for investment decisions and business strategies.

    • Partner with financial analysts and business leaders to transform complex datasets into meaningful insights that influence decision-making.

    • Support development of real-time data visualizations and dashboards that track performance metrics and operational KPIs.

Critical Competencies for Success

  • 5+ years' experience in Data Science/Data Analytics

  • Must be able to commute to Northbrook, IL on a hybrid schedule

  • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, PyTorch).

  • Financial & Market Acumen – Strong understanding of financial modeling, investment analytics, risk assessment, and consumer behavior trends.

  • Data Engineering Skills – Experience working with big data platforms (Snowflake, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Spark) and managing data pipelines.

  • Strong ability to translate complex data insights into executive-level recommendations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js.

  • Problem-Solving Mindset – Comfortable tackling complex, ambiguous business challenges and delivering data-driven solutions.

Compensation: $125K - $150K plus bonus.
