SMS Assist is looking for a Business Analyst to join our growing team! As a Business Analyst you will gather data and thoroughly analyze it to find patterns and trends. You will present the data and propose hypotheses based on your findings. As an ideal fit for this Business Analyst role with SMS Assist you should be outgoing, genuinely curious and above all things analytical. You are quick on excel and have experience using access & sequel to make data mining easier.

Core Responsibilities of a Business Analyst

• Own the reporting and analytics process for SMS Assist’s operations department.
• Organize, analyze, interpret, and report on large amounts of raw data with the ability to extract relevant conclusions and present the results to the senior leadership team.
• Proactively identify problematic areas, and conduct research to determine the best course of action to correct.
• Develop and maintain databases and data systems necessary for projects and department functions.
• Develop and implement a weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting structure that accurately communicates the results and trends of the operations department.
• Develop graphs, reports, and presentations for project results.
• Perform basic statistical analyses for projects and reports.
• Create and present executive presentations.

Key Competencies of a Business Analyst

• Ability to develop and automate processes for the extraction and manipulation of large amounts of data to generate actionable reporting
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Expert level skills in MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint
• Experience with MS SQL
• Demonstrated ability to take large amounts of data, extract the relevant information and form concise conclusions.
• Proactively take on projects with minimal supervision
• Ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner
• Proactive self-motivator, driven and enthusiastic
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills required including ability to prioritize and multi-task and handle time-sensitive deadlines in a complex, fast-paced environment
• Strong operational understanding with ability to assess operational effectiveness through data analytics
• Team oriented with excellent business acumen.
• Advanced working knowledge of data mining using SQL.
• Understanding of predictive analytics
• Experience with tools like Tableau and R.

Qualifications for to become a Business Analyst at SMS Assist

• To qualify for the Business Analyst role, you must have a Bachelor’s degree. Ideally a Masters or Bachelor's in Business Administration, Business Information Systems, finance or other business related field
• To qualify for the Business Analyst role, you must have at least 3 years of experience in data analytics, business analytics, research, etc.
• To qualify for the Business Analyst role, you must be an expert in Excel. You will be asked to complete a project that will test your Excel knowledge.
