Chief Information Officer
Morningstar’s Technology Group is a global organization spanning 10 countries with nearly 2000 dedicated employees. We are looking for an experienced CIO to leading our technology transformation. Reporting to the CTO, the CIO leads a global team of over 200 employees in the following areas:
- Corporate Systems – Salesforce, Jira, Office 365
- Infrastructure and Employee Experience – Data centers, offices, devices, networking, help desk
- Cloud Services – AWS, GCP and Azure
- Security – Compliance, Regulation, App Sec, Privacy, Sec Ops
- Operations – TOC, CI/CD, Monitoring
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with 15-20 years of experience leading global technology organizations. They will oversee the day-to-day operations across the areas above and ensure we are executing on our strategic plan. As a member of global technology leadership team, the CIO will continually contribute to adapting leading technologies and practices to Morningstar and develop our technology people, thus driving growth of product and services excellence and operational productivity.

Responsibilities
- Ensure reliability, availability, scalability, and security of Morningstar's global processing environment
- Develop and enhance Morningstar's future IT strategy
- Analyze Morningstar's current IT organization (including location strategy), infrastructure, and enterprise business systems, and ensure alignment with the business’ strategic plans and future scale
- Work closely with Morningstar's procurement team and IT vendors to identify and obtain best-in-class technology solutions
- Ensure that Morningstar's IT operations adhere to all local laws in all worldwide locations
- Protect Morningstar's IT and data assets from technology/policy breaches including human error, bad software, hardware failure, etc.
- Partner with other senior executives to create strategic plans to support the growth of the business
- Set, manage, and drive to achieve global IT objectives and team goals
- Work with the CTO and other technology leaders to evaluate/develop and implement new technologies
- Analyze and re-engineer internal processes to maximize quality and minimize service time
Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college/university
- 15+ years managing globally distributed IT technology teams
- Solid understanding of modern technology
- Deep knowledge of business principles and risk assessment
- Excellent leadership, communication and organization skills. Ability to influence
