Reverb.com is looking for a Data Analyst to support business intelligence and analytics efforts throughout our organization and identify opportunities for improvements through data-driven decision making. Everyone at Reverb takes creative initiative, helps set their own priorities, and comes up with new ways to grow the business. We’re a small, eager team so we’re looking for analysts who can take a high degree of initiative and enjoy working across team boundaries.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain reporting dashboards for departments across the company, working with stakeholders to understand business problems, define goals, and create novel metrics.
  • Conduct ad-hoc data analysis to characterize and evaluate marketing campaigns, product features, and other areas of the company, translating the data that we are collecting into concise, clear, and actionable insights.
  • Proactively conduct research to better understand our users and identify opportunities for future product iteration and experimentation.

Requirements:

  • Analytical background in a quantitative field like statistics, economics, engineering, or computer science. Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Demonstrated capabilities accessing and manipulating data in a professional or another intensive problem-solving environment.
  • Experience with SQL -- comfort writing queries and interpreting complex queries.
  • A knack for identifying and correcting problems in imperfect data, understanding where issues and biases may present in an analysis.
  • Curiosity to dive into user behavior and learn more about our platform.
  • Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills.

Coming together for users hits a high note
Collaboration on the SEO and Product Shopping team sounds pretty sweet. Brian Levine and his colleagues kick off every other Friday with a shared playlist they’ve put together. “I can’t think of a better way to start the day than discovering new music,” Levine said. The musical exchange recalls the team’s collaborative approach to tackling technical endeavors like creating new shopping pages and fine-tuning site page performance, which connects users to their musical passions in a seamless manner. “It’s great working with a team of people who want to help me perform at my best,” he said.

According to Pavan Sarguru, non-U.S. users of Reverb haven’t had a site experience that’s “truly domestic” to them. But as one of the founding members of the International Product Team, he seeks to change that by localizing the site experience for customers across the globe. Sarguru described the work as “offering a wider range of payment options, showing users listings that are more relevant to their location and expanding our language localization efforts.” While the team might be new, he said this is just the latest example of Reverb matching interests with professional opportunities.
