Primary Responsibilities

• Assisting in interview sessions with subject matter experts in an effort to formulate dimensional modeling design requirements.
• Application of dimensional modeling best practices to solve industry-specific or business function problems.
• Developing technical architecture designs to support robust solutions, taking into account the user requirements, technical requirements, etc.
• Utilization of commercial ETL software packages and/or SQL to build Data Marts, Operational Data Stores and Data Warehouses and/or Data Lakes.
• Leading and supervising Data Warehouse build, test and deployment activities.
• Participating in the full lifecycle of data engineering implementations, taking on roles beyond that of a developer when necessary. Candidate must be comfortable being involved in business analysis and testing tasks in addition to architecture and development.

Job Qualifications

• Expertise with at least one Business Intelligence reporting and analytics product such as Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, or Qlik Sense.
• Experience with major relational database technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres and/or MySQL, and skilled in writing SQL and experience performance tuning Data Warehouse and BI systems.
• Ability to design and constructure both relational and multi-dimensional data stores.  Experience with OLAP technologies such as Microsoft Analysis Services (SSAS) multidimensional or tabular. Experience with MDX and/or DAX expressions a plus.
• Familiarity with the various Data Warehouse methodologies and best practices (e.g. Kimball / Inmon / Data Vault).
• Experience with commercial ETL tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Talend, Data Stage, Informatica, Ab Initio, Business Objects Data Integrator.
• The ability to deliver a solution in an area (i.e., RDBMS vendor, business area, etc.) you are not already completely familiar with by extrapolating knowledge from areas of existing expertise.
• Must possess a strong desire to work hands-on developing Data Warehousing, reporting and performance management solutions across a range of industries and functional disciplines.
• Demonstrated problem solving and quantitative skills, combined with excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
