Data Strategy Senior Consultant

What You'll Bring:
- Hands-on experience writing SQL queries
- Experience working with data visualization tools, preferably Tableau
- Strong written language skills and familiarity with technical documents such as data dictionaries and process flow diagrams
- Ability to write instructions and procedural documentation
- Ability to think outside the box, and provide innovative data use recommendations
We'd Love to See:
- Experience with any combination of Tableau, Ab Initio, Linux command-line tools, and R
- Experience with Big Data technologies including Apache Hadoop, Spark and Hive
- Familiarity with AWS and cloud native data processing tools like Redshift, EMR and Snowflake. Certification on AWS Big Data technologies
- Experience in the financial services or consumer data industries
Impact You'll Make:
TransUnion’s Data Strategy team takes a forward-looking view of TransUnion’s data assets. We are the business sponsors of TransUnion’s core data assets. We seek new opportunities to develop a holistic view of a consumer’s risk profile beyond the insights offered in traditional credit data. We manage the big data platform that empowers TransUnion’s team of world-class data scientists. We develop the product prototypes that enable TransUnion to serve new markets and grow beyond our core credit products.
- Evaluate and measure the quality of data assets (internal and external), and seek to derive new business insights from the data assets to support new product development
- Summarize the analysis for presentation at an executive level
- Identify, research, and develop solutions to improve TransUnion’s data quality and consumer matching, and that will enhance TransUnion’s diversified product lines, revenue and profitability
- Learn TransUnion’s credit data and provide subject matter expertise to projects requiring this data
- Continue to look for new tools and ways to improve and standardize the data evaluation methodology, and seek for improved team productivity
- Develop other analysts on the team and enable them to be successful in their responsibilities by coaching and mentoring
